Sea Wave Sound Drum, 30.5x30.5cm, Assorted Color

It does what it says on the tin yes it’s basic but it sounds just as good as any other Ocean Drum I have heard glad I purchased it. A nice size and easy to play just a very gently movement of the wrist. Covering only seems flimsy however it is meant to be played with gently so cannot see there being an issue. Overall for the price a good buy

Very Cool Low budget Alternative Ocean Drum. The sound quality is reasonable, if you play slowly enough the waves almost sound real. The only thing I would have to fault is the very thin plastic film instead of a drum skin, just don’t knock it against any sharp corners and you’ll be fine

More than happy with quality and sound. Will enjoy adding soothing sound of the sea to my Sound therapy sessions.

The media could not be loaded. This drum is quite versatile, holding it flat and shaking the ball bearings inside it in a circular motion, you can create remarkably realistic wave sounds, whereas holding it upright and hitting the skin or the rim, it is very like a snare drum, with the ball bearings giving extra depth to the sound. It is also pretty loud (mine is the 30cm version). I’m not sure whether it is intended mainly as an amusing kid’s toy, or a genuinely useful percussion instrument, but I think it does work as the latter, it is kind of a tambourine, a shaker, and a larger drum, all in one, with a surprising range of sounds. If used just as a drum, I have no idea how durable it would be, the skin seems fairly tough, but it may not be designed to take a lot of hard treatment. As regards looks, it is nicely finished, but I would have greatly preferred an opaque skin rather than transparent, but this is a personal thing. Only significant drawback is that you can’t make it silent - as soon as you move it, the balls roll and it’s making a noise, which can be a nuisance if you simply want to carry it about rather than actually play it. Overall quite a clever instrument with the potential to make proper music or just have fun with.
