How do I get a 1/8" bit broken for use in a Dremel?

Score the middle of the shank (smooth part of the bit),I used a Dremel cutting wheel, place the bit in a split in the concrete (driveway, patio, sidewalk) with the scored mark centered over the gap. I put a shop rag under it and wrapped over the ends of the bit so no pieces were lost and the threads protected. Hit the center scored mark with a hatchet or use a hammer and chisel. One good pop and it should break. I had a rough break so I ground the uneven edges down. When you use beware not to over tighten the chuck on your dremel. Because of this, the bit will work into the chuck so you have to stop and pull it back out during use or the threads will damage the chuck. The bit works very well, but be patient. Hope this helps.

I broke a a 7/32" drill bit in stud wall. i wonder if using rescue bit 1/8 i can make a hole in the broken bit to take it out?

Yes it should do the job, but what I found out and what directions implyed, was the bit doesn't work like regular bit, it chews up material instead of drilling holes in the middle of material

Will it cut through a tap? I have a broken tap I'd like to remove.

I've used it to cut through a carbide drill bit and metal on my motorcycle frame. The carbide screw extractor is harder than hardened steel so I would say it will most likely cut through the tap yes.

Will it work on a broken off grade 8 bolt?

I am not sure what a grade 8 bolt is. But I had a average size screw about 1 inch long and maybe less than quarter inch thick stuck all the way into my bathroom tile. The screw thread were all worn out. I was skeptical at first if this thing will work, but gave it a try anyway. To my amazement, it really bore through the screw and bits of metal just came out. Excellent piece of extractor.
