Q: Will this actually fit a full size ATX board, like a Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 Motherboard

Hello Simon,I've checked the instruction manual and it does not mention ATX compatibility. I have also checked the Fractal Design website and it mentions "Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboard compatibility" (http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/node-series/node-804).Hope this helps.

Q: How many HDD can this hold?

Up to 12 disks - 8 3.5in and 4 2.5in disks. Depends on configuration

Q: Will a full size ATX board work with this (even if it wasn't designed for one)?

According to wiki "The maximum size of a microATX motherboard is 9.6 × 9.6 in (244 × 244 mm). The standard ATX size is 25% longer, at 12 × 9.6 in (305 × 244 mm)." To fit an ATX M/B, you need about 60 mm additional space and there is only 30mm of space underneath the motherboard. So, an ATX board, would definitely won't fit.

Q: will this case except low profile cards ?

This case will take a full sized card, my card is 279 x 140 x 37 mm and there is plenty of space left.
