Two Professional cling film / plastic wrap / foil slide cutters

I’d been looking for something like this ever since I saw a similar item in use in a busy sandwich bar and the ease with which they drew out and cut off the required length of film to wrap a freshly made sandwich.I’ve struggled for years with the so-called cutter attached to many boxes of cling film. Typically, there is a row of metal or plastic teeth that is supposed to perforate the film allowing it to be torn away. However, what tends to happen is that the film refuses to tear across the serrated edge but instead gets stretched and tears in the wrong place. I’d end up with a scrap of cling film not fit for anything. That’s frustrating and wasteful.No instructions came with these cutters but it takes just a minute to work out what to do. The cutter is placed along the edge of the box. You draw out the film using both hands and lay it across the food or container. Then, slide the blue cutting blade across to the other side and you’re done. You get two separate cutters for different widths of film.This cutter does not tear the film but genuinely cuts it allowing the right length to be obtained without overstretching. The blade itself is totally enclosed and presents no hazard. I can get precise cuts consistently and it works reliably even with cheaper brands of cling film that might occasionally tear while still on the roll. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Bought for the inlaws to replace their Lakeland cutter which worked great for a number of years until the blades started to rust/blunt to the point it no longer cuts or just drags the cling film. Unfortunately Lakeland no longer sell these cutters, so I had to find an alternative and found this pair of cutters for similar money.It came as a pair for smaller and larger boxes. The design and construction is ok, not quite to the standard of the Lakeland ones they replaced. The sliders and blades are smaller but cut well, so a plus point for being compact in design. I also like the material used in the clip, which is essentially like a the plastic paper binders that clamp loose sheets together, the cling film sticks on well aiding in maintaining the tautness required for a smooth cut without dragging.Overall a good purchase. But we'll have to see how sharp the blades holds up over time. At least I have 2 in the pack!

Comes as a pack of 2, the longer was is really good, the shorter one too short to be of any great use. why cant they supply them in the same length, ????

A little bit of genius!!! I bought a box of cling film but the cardboard blade was absolutely useless. I purchased this in the hope that it would help and I am so glad I did because this is brilliant. Cuts the cling film with no problems whatsoever!!!

This works better than expected provided on gets the cling film more or less horizontal across it. Makes such a difference when not having to fight with the cling film. I only have use for the longer one but the cutter off the shorter one can act as a spare for the longer one so overall its a real bargain.
