Does the safety warning mean you cant keep petrol mixed with Sta-bil in a storage can?

It must refer to NOT using the Sta-Bil bottle itself for storing petrol/ mixture. It can't mean anything else really.

why cant this be used for petrol? the description says it cant? So is what is it for then if not petrol?

It's designed to be used with petrol mixed with ethanol fuel. No point in using it with pure petrol but I use it with E10 to reduce impact on fuel pipes and metal fuel tank rusting. Not sure why anyone would say it's not for petrol.
