cheap crap
I can just walk in the pantry and smell the coffee because it escapes from the top vent. Also, today I noticed that the measuring spoon has a few rust spots. By the way, this is my second review but it keeps being deleted.

Not 22oz-barely 20oz.
Ok. I inquired as to whether or not this cannister would really hold 22oz. of coffee beans; not ground coffee but beans. I received numerous responses, including one from the seller, assuring me that it would easily hold 20oz. although 22oz. would be a bit tight. Fair enough, I only wanted to hold 20oz. of beans anyway. I just opened a new, 20oz. bag of coffee and after taking time to tamp the coffee down by banging the container on the countertop a number of times, I was finally able to ALMOST get the full 20oz. of coffee in the canister, (it crunched a little when I closed the lid so I'm curious to see how the one-way valve works in that scenario). So what am I missing here?? Did anyone actually try to put that amount of coffee on the cannister? Are Starbucks French Roast beans extra-large beans or something? Sorry seller, but I can't give you 5 stars. Unless someone can tell me a technique that will make a cannister hold more coffee, this cannister won't hold 20oz. or 22oz. of beans.

Save your money
I bought 3 of these things to store 54 ounces of folgers coffee. Thought they would keep it fresh. Was I wrong. Even after not being opened for 3 weeks, the coffee in the 2nd and 3rd container was stale, as was the 1st one that I had been using every day. Save your money, and just use the folgers plastic can, it will keep it fresher.

LARGEST ON MARKET
THIS THE LARGEST CONTAINER LIKE THIS ON THE MARKET. IT WILL HOLD 20oz DARK ROAST BEANS AND 20oz GROUND COFFEE DRIP/EXPRESSO SETTING. OTHERS STATE THAT THEY ARE "LARGE" BUT ONLY HOLD 16oz OF BEANS AND GROUND. I BOUGHT 2 FOR THIS PRICE, WELL WORTH IT. WOULD RECOMMEND.

Form meets function perfectly
I've been using my Java Shield Coffee Canister for about two weeks now and I love it! The stainless design looks great on our counter top and matches our stainless appliances. I've never had a coffee container with a built-in valve to aIlow CO2 gas to escape but I think it actually keeps our coffee fresher longer. I also like the convenient month and day dial that is built into the lid. It's good to know when we replenished the coffee in the canister. The stainless steel scoop is a nice addition as well. I would say that the overall design and function of this coffee canister is excellent!

Disappointed
I kind of expected a better material. If it’s stainless it’s a super thin stainless. Bottom has a small dent in it which you wouldn’t figure for stainless. The seal isn’t great. You really have to pay attention when closing because the lid will be off to one side or the other. You have to make sure it’s straight when closing. Overall I’m disappointed in what I received. It is pretty looking though.

INADEQUATE CLASPING ABILITY
I bought this after looking at other comparables based first on its look, (I like the matte black and I like that it says "Java Shield" on it. That gives it a kinda cool look factor to it for me, and the price is good). However, after receiving it and testing it out I immediately noticed when I went to clasp the lid shut that the silver metal band that goes around the container lifted up at the clasp thereby making an airtight seal improbable. I thought of maybe riveting the metal band to the container but didn't really want to put holes in it. So I opted to put a "ziptie" on the hinged side of the metal band. This did snug the metal band against the container a bit more but not completely enough to keep the metal band from moving when I fastened the clasp shut. I only plan on using this for when I go camping so coffee will not be in it for very long. If I was going to use it for long term coffee storage and was concerned about the air tight seal to preserve freshness, I would get something else and return this one. My picture shows the metal band (After) I put the ziptie on. Before I put the ziptie on the metal band pulled up considerably more and I could see the rubber seal was inadequately being compressed. It does have a nice little measuring spoon that comes with it. When you purchase an item you have an expectancy that it will work and function as advertised. One should not have to "fix" something that's new to make it work properly. To sum it up, it's a nice looking container, but the airtight sealing ability is lacking due to the metal band sliding up when clasping shut.I've actually had the opportunity to finally use this, (08-27-2020). I filled it up with coffee and shut the lid and placed it inside my Jeep for an upcoming camping trip. Within Minutes the entire inside of my Jeep smelled like fresh ground coffee beans,,, smelled great, however,,, THIS CONTAINER IS ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS, it does NOT have an airtight seal. The best use for this container is to find the nearest trash receptacle, and throw it in there. Better yet, Don't even consider this container for purchase if you are wanting an airtight seal.

Size of Container good...BUT...
I like the size of this container, but was disappointed in lid tightness and thinness of Stainless Steel container. It doesn't seem to seal coffee beans tight for reserving fresh bean freshness!
