The SIR 321 is a Z-Wave controlled countdown timer that can be used to control immersion heater elements or other electrical appliances rated up to 3 kW. The SIR321 can be controlled by network controllers from Secure or other manufacturers. It is a mains powered device which also acts as a signal repeater. The user can turn on a boiler or a heater/cooler on at a specific time and define a maximum heating/cooling time to prevent that the forgotten device continuing to draw power when not needed any more. Z-Wave allows setting of the timer function from 1 minutes to 24 hours with a granularity of 1 minute, while the local manual operation allows the selection of 30, 60 or 120 minutes. An optional temperature sensor turns the device into a temperature monitoring device for uses with underfloor heating. The SIR is suitable for ing on to any standard surface ed pattress or flush ed back box with a minimum depth of 25 mm in the UK (BS 4662) or 35 mm in Continental Europe (DIN 49073).
