This is ok product for basic use on Windows. If you are trying to watch/edit video or use it for linux, try something else. I had to hack my linux to make it work, but then it's very laggy still even it worked. Basically this is just a wrapper of displaylink.

Misleading Ubuntu Support Claims
Claims to run Ubuntu but the issues (which are not detailed on Amazon) make it unusable for most people. Also, there is NO SUPPORT currently for Wayland which is the new display server starting in 17.10. This means this device does not work in current and will not work in future iterations until a new driver is released. Biggest deal breakers for me is the lack of portrait mode support and jittery mouse and Javascript interactions. Here is a list for anyone looking to run this on Ubuntu:The following are known issues with DisplayLink Ubuntu support:LIMITATIONS- DisplayLink supports up to two full HD monitors. It is possible to connect and use more but this is not tested or supported by DisplayLink.- Rotation is not supported due to missing functionality in the generic modesetting driver- Going into/out of mirror mode may not work and the X server may crash- Audio should work for DL devices supporting 2 channel audio. 5.1 audio is not Supported by the in-box audio driver. If the DisplayLink device advertises 5.1 audio, it will not work until the PulseAudio daemon is restarted. This will enable 5.1 audio to start functioning but channels may be swapped. It is recommended to reconfigure the 5.1 audio to stereo audio to avoid this issue.- Closed source AMD/NVIDIA drivers are incompatible with DisplayLink driver. Please use open-source AMD/NVIDIA drivers instead.KNOWN ISSUES- Changing the display layout from extend to mirror and back to extend keeps the resolution seen in mirror mode (highest possible common resolution from the mirror mode). To recover, set the resolution back to the default for extended screens. This is an OS limitations as the same problem can be reproduced without DisplayLink present.- After connecting DisplayLink screens, the monitors might be black. The user should go to: "System settings" -> "Displays" and turn the monitors on.- All DisplayLink outputs are reported as DVI outputs- The X server may crash after unplugging a DisplayLink device, if the device was the only active screen.- Changing display layout may not work sometimes. This problem occurs when more than one DisplayLink display is connected, and is not limited to DisplayLink. More information is available in this article.- For some dock products, the DisplayLink screens may not be available after machine resume from suspend. This is a pretty big list and as such I claim that the Ubuntu support stated is misleading at best and false advertising at worst. Also, the brand under this listing PillarAxiom is not stated anywhere on the box. The box I received is from WavLink. This also seemed highly suspicious to me. There are better multi display solutions out there for Ubuntu that don't require ANY software/drivers such as this https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Thunderbolt-Dual-HDMI-Adapter/dp/B01ANR5AJU. Granted it doesn't have all the other ports, but the purpose of this unit for me, and I think most people, is the display support. The fact there are so many positive NON-VERIFIED purchase reviews leads me to believe they are paid reviews and as such I have reported this listing to Amazon as potentially fraudulent.Returning this item today.

worth EVERY penny!
I don't write too many reviews, but I had to in this case. This device is pretty damn amazing. I've dealt with cheaper and less effective docks, but when I bought a new MacBook Pro, I decided to spend the money and do it right. After doing a little research and finding options from $50 to $500, by way of docking options for the MacBook Pro, I stumbled upon this Wavlink. It is a great product!!!! Dual HDMI and mini display ports. Maybe not exactly plug and play on the most recent iOS, but after just a couple of searches on the Wavlink forum, I am up and running and could not be more satisfied with the result. WOW!

Three Stars
Work good enough with USB 3.0 Type A, but not so good with 3.0 C Type.

Product no longer supports MacOS High Sierra 10.13.4. I was having issues with previous MacOS version not displaying immediately. DO NOT PURCHASE, not reliable.

Easy to set up. Allows running of dual monitors and consolidates all components. Helps eliminate cluttered wiring. I would recommend this product.

27 5-star reviews and not a single verified purchaser?
I don't own it either, so that makes 28 people who've rated this without buying it.It's fair to sprinkle a few fake reviews in for your product, but people use these reviews to help make purchasing decisions, so please, let's not get carried away.Edit (11/7): there is now 1 review (Ubuntu guy) out of 81 that is from a verified purchaser. LOL.
