Not only does this not charge through the charging port, but when the power source is plugged into the charging port, the normal USB and the HDMI ports also stop working. Even when there is nothing in the other two ports, there is no throughput to charge the device. Without the charger attached, the other ports work well, but this rather defeats the purpose of the dongle.It may well be that this dongle is not suitable for use with the Asus Zenbook 3, although as it allegedly works with both the MacBook and ChromeBook, it should, but other dongles work, notably the KiWiBiRD® USB 3.1 Type C Multiple THUNDERBOLT 3 Adapter to HDMI.I cannot recommend this product.

Plugged it into my MacBook 12" 2016 and the charging indicator flashed on then off, then nothing happened. Did not recognise anything, dead. Not sure if it's related to my MacBook or just a dodgy unit. I sent it back for a full refund.I also wasn't that impressed with the quality, the ports were a bit wonky. I guess you get what you paid for.

The product initially worked well, but after 2 months, the HDMI port started having problems with connection. Now after a year, is no longer working at all. Device does match the color of the macbook pretty well.

When I first got it, it worked somewhat, but the monitor kept falling asleep frequently. A few months down the line, the charging has now stopped working too. I've tried 3 adapters from different brands, and had my hopes up for this one, but disappointed.

Product worked as anticipated for a couple of months. Unfortunately it then broke. I contacted the seller but no replacement was provided. I'd suggest it's worth the extra to get an apple or other branded alternative.

Excellent product & service

Didn't work properly - it got ridiculously hot, the through charging didn't work and it seemed to stop my wifi working when it was plugged in.

Unfortunately won't work with HTC 10; presume it uses MHL internally!
