Disappointing
If you want to read a book about being on a tv show or about family drama, then this is the book for you. If you suffer from short term memory loss and need things repeated constantly, go ahead and buy this book, it certainly won't let you forget anything. However if you were hoping for a book about a person's weight loss journey, buy something else. All of the important aspects of losing weight were left out. Instead it went on and on about her business and the friends she made while on a tv show. Who cares about that? Well she does apparently. Sadly though she did not make me care nor did she inspire me.

Inspirational
I've just finnished reading Justine's Journey.....what a story, what a woman! It's so easy to describe someone as inspirational, but Justine is quite simply that. Like everyone else I've done all the diets over the years and they don't work. The simple message in this book is healthy eating, portion controle and exercise, with a little of what you fancy thrown in! I'm definitley going to follow her advice. She's living proof of what that can do.I also found myself moved to tears by her obvious love and devotion to her husband and children which inspired her to loose the weight in the first place and kept her going through the lows and self doubt. She's even managed to keep baking the cakes that she loves, but instead of eating them, she's got a great business going.....genius! I can't believe that a woman who once weighed 28stones now runs marathons and wins TV cookery shows.....whew! I'm just off to try one of the recipes after I've walked to the shops for ingredients.....it's working already!

Bit random and waffley...
Justine comes across as very likeable and clearly losing that much weight is a great achievement - but this is more like a stream of consciousness than a book. In a weight loss memoir, we want it chronological, and particularly detailed at the beginning. Perhaps talk us through the first difficult few weeks, or let us know when you started to notice a difference etc. The actual process of weight loss is almost skipped over, and the space given to a dramatically detailed telling of her participation in a reality TV show.A good editor would have helped pull this story into a good autobiography, but as it is I think it may just be a convoluted plug for her baking business.

Thoroughly Inspired
Justine's Journey was the very first book that I read on my newly acquired kindle. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. I felt like Justine was a friend of mine telling me "her story". It has been told with utmost honesty, bearing all to the readers. It includes so many emotions, and few would fail to identify with at least one adjectives used to portray her story. For those people who have struggled to lose weight, and keep it off(myself being one of them), this story reaches out to you to show you how it can be done without expensive gym memberships, diet classes and weighing every single morsel that you choose to eat. The book is real, in so much as there are some cake recipes(healthy ones of course) included in the plan that Justine devised. It is with absolute admiration, that, not only did this inspiring lady raise her family, and build her bakery business, but at the same time she has written her first book and managed her weight loss. I believe after reading this book that no matter whether you have a few pounds to lose, or a few stone, get yourself this book and soon you too will be as impressed as I was.

A good attempt at autobiography, but needed a professional editor.
Chatty and at first interesting, but my interest flagged as it went on. Good for her for the weight loss, she did really well, but far too much detail about the programmes she was in - I haven’t heard of them.

I've waited years for this book
If you've purchased loads of diet or healthy eating books and given up then this is finally the book you've been waiting for. All I can say is its honest, thought provoking, really makes you think about your life and for me is the book I have been waiting for. Justine's account of her journey, the highs and lows is so insightful it really makes you think about life. I read the book in one evening - I couldn't put it down it was so good and I've already bought the first week's shopping. In all honesty everyone should read this book as it makes you think about how society reacts to overweight people - a truly inspirational read.

Self-indulgent
Got a third of the way through and gave up! Very self indulgent writing. Nice she did it without the help of surgery but don't discount it out of hand so vehemently. For some, surgery is the only option. It's not cheating or easy. It's just another way. Really hope the weight doesn't creep back on. Expect it will!

Justine's Journey shared with the readers...
This book is a frank but thouroughly enjoyable insight into the life of this incredible family. It is like listening to a conversation around a table - over a very large cup of coffee. It feels like you are being part of that conversation and is not hard to read at all. I love that it is a real dialogue about life and its challenges. Should be a great book for those that moan about their lives to read so they can reassess how they will deal with their own challenges
