Vibrate

This is one of those gems that I found out of the blue whilst browsing the internet. Soussan is British but USA based and hangs out with real musicians such as Toto, whose guitarist/vocalist Steve Lukather guests on a couple of numbers. This is album is full of catchy grooves with impressive melodies layered over the top. There is not one weak track. Soussan is primarily a guitarist whose voice is tuneful and pleasant, if a little light and unremarkable. But don't let that put you off as his style is perfect for the type of music where every aspect of the mix is of equal importance. Whilst this would certainly be classed as rock music, it has a freshness and a certain style of its own which makes it quite different from the norm. Occasionally I can hear a bit of Pink Floyd in there somewhere but it is far less pretentious and much more accessible to the casual listener than that. I'm hooked.
