Absolutely stunning, A real feature in my lounge, the flame effect looks so real, works whether heat applied or not. Really delighted with this product.

This fire is such a good buy! You just plug it in and it is good to go. The flame effect is very effective and the orange glow that wavers through the real coals takes me back to my childhood when I can remember looking into our real fire, it is very comforting even though the heat function is not even on! The box says that the flame effect uses approx 1p per hour of electricity which is not too bad considering. The blow heater I imagine uses much more electricity as my meter flashes away when it is on but I only wanted the fire for a quick fix in my living room which can be very cold before my heating has kicked in but this fire has the room warm in no time and I find that I don't need the fire on long anyway.The Fire itself looks very classy and I have to say that I am very impressed, I love it and cannot fault it. Everyone who has seen it says how lovely it is. I bought it to replace an old tired gas fire that no longer worked and the this fire has changed the look of my room so much, it is a pleasure to sit in there in the evening now. I would recommend this fire to anyone for the look, the quality, the flame effect and the ease of installation. By the way the flex is 1.5 meters and comes from the centre bottom of the fire and can go left or right.

Excellent fire and remote control.

I needed an electric fire to replace my old one in a fireplace setting. I bought this on the strength of reviews both on Amazon and other retailers. I'm very pleased indeed with this fire, it gives a beautiful fire effect, the most realistic I have seen, I bought is as a focal point in the room and the room appears warmer as soon as the flame effect is on, lovely to look at, especially with the real coals. I agree with other reviewers that you need to clean the coals before placing them as there is obviously a bit of coal dust!! I bought this also as an extra to the central heating and I agree with others that the fan heater is a little noisy when switched on. It gives out a fair degree of heat. There was also a scratch on the top of the black surround when I unpacked the fire , fortunately this was easily removed. The fire was not well packed, arrived in the manufacturers cardboard box with no extra outer packaging, as it was, the box had been torn and I was lucky the fire wasn't damaged in transit. That said, I am very pleased indeed with the performance and looks of the product and I would recommend it.

Fantastic fire, I had an insert gas fire which I removed and wanted to replace with an electric fire, mainly for the glow effect. This has a really lovely, realistic glow, not as orange as the picture would suggest. I just removed from the box, added the real coal (you get supplied with a generous amount of coal) and plugged in. I have this sitting on my fireplace and it looks stunning. There are small cut on grooves at the back of the fire for the plug wire so you can have the wire go either to the right or left side, depending on where your socket is. The heat effect is also very good, I tried it out and I personally didn't find it noisy at all , the room heated up quickly. All in all a great, sturdy, free standing fire with a very realistic glow. Don't hesitate, it's a great buy at a great price.

I have been decorating my whole house, and I do have a rather minimalist style. Which I why I was surprised to go for this fire..with its traditional theme. But....I'm glad I did. I really like it. It comes well boxed so no issues about damage. Its easy peasy lemon squeezy to set up. Can you put a plug in a socket? That's it..job done. It fits flush to your wall, although be advised that it won't if you have skirting boards. But that need not be a problem. I took the advice of a previous reviewer and washed the actual coals before use...and glad I am too. Once arranged over the base of the fire it looks really good..and quite authentic. The Optiflame effect is good..it keeps drawing your eye to check out the flames. Even my 11 year old said it was impressive. Also the two position heat switches are well placed and it easily takes the chill off my room in only a few minutes. Would I recommend.......yes. And at the price I paid (£149.99) a bargain me thinks to boot..

Very thrilled with the fire. Just what we wanted and looks very good in situ.

I am more than happy with the fire itself, unfortunately there were no instructions in the box. Also the remote control on the video has an array of buttons needed for all the functions, the remote I received has an ON & OFF button so unable to change the flame, temperature or anything else other than on or off. I have been promised a call from Dimplex still waiting
