Lake George, Great Sacandaga: Adirondack Park Map (National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map, 743)

This map is easy to read and made of a strong water resistant/ tear resistant material.A must have when planning a hike

Had this map on hand for a backpacking trip around Pharaoh Lake and Pharaoh Mountain last weekend. On-line forums, search engines, and web maps are great, but there is no substitute for a detailed and well developed trail map! It helped considerably pinning down both parking options and trail heads. It was also great for route planning and shelter options if we needed it. We experienced high winds and heavy rain during our trip, so I can confirm that the map is indeed waterproof and tear resistant! The map includes everything from lean tos to boat slips and everything in-between.And on a simple level, these maps serve as a good reminder of just how many trail options there are in the area. Hope to hit up Tongue Mountain and some of the other trails around the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness we missed in the near future. Trails do inevitably change a bit with time, but you can toss this in your glove box or pack and rest assured that you'll get a few good years out of it! For the price, it's definitely worth it.

Good for scoping trails. It's not a 1:24 map, so you won't get that level of detail, but it's pretty decent anyway. Water-resistant too.

Great for planning, reviewing and taking on a hike. There is nothing like a high quality topo map

I love maps, being a retired cartographer, I just pour myself on this map like syrup on pancakes.It showed me every trail and more I could be interested in hiking. I'll probabl order another Andirondacksarea map soon. Great detail with the terrain, topography and trail info.

National geographic produces some of the greatest guides and maps I have ever read. These maps illustrate trails and the topography is easy to read. This is great for off trail hiking or just in case you're lost in the ADKS. I would recommend for any outdoorsmen, hiker or camper.

The Map is very informative and Very Clear to read, I have two maps and going to order more. One very important fact is it's great instead of paper. Paper gets wet out bush whacking as in earlier years.

I have yet to find a better map! They are made of very strong paper, so you don't have to worry about too much. I had this one stuffed in my belt most of the weekend and you'd never know it by looking.
