Ordered this for a surplus file cabinet. I found it had all the parts I needed and then some, easy to install. Very good quality.

I bought this to replace a desk lock for which I did not have the key for. The lock works great for my situation but like the other reviews say there are some stuff you should know. Even though the description says for for drawers 1/2 in to 1 in thick it will NOT fit on a 1 in drawer. I know this because my drawer is less than an inch but I had trouble getting the hex nut to fit on the lock. I had to use a electric screwdriver to shave a little bit of the wood to make the hex nut fit. Once I got that fixed, everything else went smoothly. Installation after getting the wood shaved was quick. I feel safe having this lock on my desk drawer.

The key fits loosely right from the start, the locking arm is easily bent and it starts rusting almost immediately. If you need a strong high security lock this ain't it but if you just need a generic lock for something inside the house it'll work OK.

Easy to install, lots of options for depth. no instructions but a sufficient diagram. Less than eight dollars delivered to my door with tax. Terrific value. Allows me to lock a small file cabinet so my toddler granddaughter doesn’t match her fingers opening and closing the drawers. If you’ve lost your key and your cabinet is unlocked this is the way to secure it. Took less than 10 minutes to install. It’s not the best lock, but it does the job. If you’re looking for full-blown security This is not the lock. It will keep unwanted and nosy people out. It won’t keep people out with bad intentions.
