The bookshelf is very easy to put together. It definitely looks more expensive than it is and a great addition to our room for books. If I had space would definitely purchase another one. It is very sturdy and holds all our books. If you want a book shelf that looks classy, expensive, and very sturdy you won't go wrong purchasing this bookshelf.

I have been obsessing over this bookcase for several months and finally decided to purchase it (and in doing so, expand my book collection because the Double Wide 6-Shelf is about twice the size of a standard bookcase). The material is great. Definitely fake wood but looks real and I expect will hold up because it's not going to see much daily wear and tear. It was easy to assemble, although I did need another person to help me hold some things in the correct position while I screwed them together. It probably took about an hour and a half with occasional help from my boyfriend. I love the finished product. It's sturdy and I don't feel like I need the brackets included to mount it to the wall.The only issue I have with it might be user error: Each metal support (there are three in this case) comes in two pieces, one of which is about a foot and a half tall and the other making up the rest of it. These went together alright and looked straight, but once I added the shelves and had the finished product, it seemed like the metal supports were bending out slightly where the two pieces met. It's not very noticeable, and like I said could be user error with me putting it together, but I was a little disappointed with the final look.

The shelves are wide and tall, allowing storage and display of small to large objects (such as books to storage bins) [see pictures]. Putting it all together was a job, taking several hours (but to be fair, the instructions say it's a 2-person job and I did it all by myself). Don't panic (as I did) when on starting to unpack it you find only five levels instead of the ordered six. The lowest level is separate and must be attached at the bottom of the three main iron stands. Once it's all put together (the instructions are clear and helpful) it's very sturdy and looks very good. The included 3 U-bars may work in some circumstances for securing the bookshelf to the back wall, but not in all (particularly if covering a window or where studs aren't present), but using an angle-bar with screws I secured it easily on top of the top shelf board to an off-placed stud in the wall. In all, this is a very good product at utilizing otherwise unused wall space (here sliding a bed to the side away from wall) to obtain a heap of storage/display space.

This bookshelf is sturdy (and it comes with hardware to secure it to the wall). It looks great for the price. Up close, I don't think it really looks like real wood, but it still looks nice. The box arrived looking like it was swallowed and spit back up by a sewer monster, but it was packed very well and there was no damage to the product. The only problem I found with it was that the paper veneer was coming off a bit at a couple of the corners of a shelf. But it wasn't noticeable once I put it all together. This thing took me a few hours to put together by myself, but it was doable and not that complicated. The hard part was just getting the screws in all the way in places where the wrench barely fit. Make sure you check out how the holes/screws should align in subsequent steps so you don't put things together backwards and have to redo it. Over all I'm happy with the purchase.

While I've used Amazon for YEARS, this item has me writing my first review. Listen - I scanned the existing reviews, and I always look for most recent and negative to judge a product. That said, very minimal negativity so I decided to give this shelf a try.I purchased the Double Wide 4-Tier Open Bookcase. My purpose is to was to use it as a bourbon display. I am not disappointed at all. This shelf is well constructed, sturdy, and not too difficult to assemble alone (calls for two people, but I had it up and standing in about 60 minutes).The shelf looks GREAT and holds over over 100 bottles with ease. Very pleased with the shelf and highly recommend to others. Make sure you do secure it to the wall (especially with the weight I'm using it for) - the brackets and anchors are included.
