Case has metal front and back. Pros: 1. Contoured metal makes it extremely strong, it might protect your phone from a knife stab. In the middle is a thick walled, with honey comb, rubber insert, which protects the back and all sides of the iphone 5s. Front is protected by a thick crystal clear glass panel which is surprisingly sensitive to touch, does not compromise sensitivity of the phone screen. 2. All the ports and holes are perfectly machined. Even the proximity sensor and light sensor holes are perfectly placed. Camera is perfectly aligned and protected.NOW THE Cons: 1. Very heavy. Iphone 5s weight=0.247 lbs / 112grams; Cover=0.348 lbs / 158 grams; Total=0.595 lbs / 269 grams. Manufacturer says it is 136 Grams. It is not. It is 158 Grams. I measured this accurately. If you want a very sturdy case but dont mind the more than half a pound of weight, then this is for you. 2. This case is NOT waterproof at all. It is shock proof. 3. You have to remove the home button rubber cover completely for fingerprint reader to work. 4. There is a toggle rod to switch the phone button between ringer and silent. This rod is too long, and is easily bumped when inserted in a pocket. The manufacturer had good intentions, but needs to reduce the rod by 3mm on both sides.All in all, I cannot keep this because of the weight, but wanted to write a review so the next buyer knows what to expect.

Ok, first of all, it's not waterproof, it's water-resistant. It's heavy but it keeps your iPhone well protected, I bought a similar case for my obsolete iPhone 4 back in the days, and if you were to look at it (The phone itself, not the case) it's brand new, no scratches, no nothing. I have dropped it countless times and the iPhone 4 is still working. For the headphone jack... Be sure to get headphones that have a slim end, thick ones won't fit! Easy to assemble, it comes with a hex key to tighten the 6 screws also comes with 2 extra screws and a cleaning cloth. Oh, and if you are using the touchprint thingy for the SE, that won't work. I mean I don't use the touch id. Sooo this would not be a good case if you want to use the touch id. But yeah the screen is great, comes with its glass protection, so no use of screen protectors. I’ve had my 5’s for a few years and I am by no means easy on it. I am a Park Ranger and always on the go. This thing is very durable and seems to be made of good quality. You have to have a tool that is included to put your phone inside the case. The only draw back is the weight, this case is very heavy but that is what you get if you want good durability. Do not know about this cases waterproof ability and don’t plan on testing it. I figure if you drop this thing in water it’s going to be deep enough the last thing you will be worry about is if it’s waterproof, I would certainly say based on appearances it has the ability to be very water resistant for a short period of time, a minute or two.

I’m rough on phone cases so I need something tough. It took about 6 months for me to damage this case but I did. The case is great I broke the screen protector some how in my pocket which happens the only problem with that is that it was glued to the case so we’ll that I had to use a knife to remove the the remainder of the protector. But it has definitely saved my phone countless times. The thumb reader works about 50/50 and the earphone jack is a lil difficult but the protection I got was amazing. I would like for a belt clip to come with it personally

For starters, the glass is just normal glass. It broke in my pocket next to my chapstick. The headphone port was too deep and narrow, could accept my headphone jack. Screws began to loosen up after a week and I lost two, thankfully they sent extras. Black finish began to rub off after a week. Not the greatest powder coating application. The home button for the fingerprint reader was very hard to get back in and I stopped using it to unlock my phone. Not a good product.

First of all I will not just throw my phone in water to test the “waterproof” ability of this case. But I will say that the case is very well made. It’s a metal casing with silicone inner part. It’s screws together to cradle your phone and seems like it will protect very well. Just received mine today and is currently on my phone as I’m writing this review. The case is really snug around the phone giving me a piece of mind. Many would say why purchase a case for your iPhone 5s and ill say because I like the 5s as it is small and easy to carry. I bought this case for my teenager, who is hard on phones and cases. I am very happy with the durability of this case and that it needs to be screwed together rather than snapped together. This case is well padded. I also like the that silicone/rubber/whatever-it-is bumper is seated inside the edges of the aluminum case. That was always my issue with OtterBox and LifeProof cases. As much as I love those cases and use them on my own phones, the soft components of the cases eventually wore down and wore out, or my child picked them apart.Why three stars? The power button doesn't work. The case does not allow contact with the phone's power button unless I take my thumbnail and jam it SUPER HARD into the case. It simply doesn't reach, and the aluminum frame limits your finger's ability to press hard. This is not a dealbreaker with my child, so it's not a dealbreaker with me, but I may look for a replacement case in the near future if this proves to be a problem. I don't like that you can't just hit the power button to lock your phone with this case. That can be a personal security issue. Instead, you have to wait for the phone to turn itself off. I could shorten the time it takes for the phone to turn itself off, but then my son would have to unlock it frequently, so I'd be replacing one problem with another.Do I recommend this case? Meh. I would totally recommend it if the power button issue was fixed. Other than that, it's a good case.

The iPhone case is really sturdy especially if you tends to drop your phone a lot. The reasons why I gave it four stars as opposed to 5 stars is the cover for the headphone jack should be rubber instead of metal, because the metal cover is a bit flimsy. Also, the volume button to switch your phone ringer to silence should be on the side with the other volume buttons too instead of on top, because when it’s on top it can very easily turn your ringer to silent mode.

the case fit well and felt solid,the glass was very clear.the only problem was it would not let signal through. i could only get 3g in areas with lte without case on
