Worked like a charm
I'm gonna be straight forward, I had the lowest of hopes this was going to fix the issue. 9 bucks, I mean...c'mon. Boy, was I wrong. Pretty straight install, I used a Dremmel to get ride of the old plastic, and the new release slid right on. The screws slipped when I was really trying to crank them down, but other than that no complaints. The red looks good and definitely makes it easy to find.

Simple latch on, love it!
For reference, got a 2005 Honda Civic Ex. Original owner seemed to have broke the plastic as well as the frame around the area. Broke off the remaining plastic with some cutters and it did the trick. It will not automatically go straight so make sure yours is straightened if you have issues with a crooked latch. Works 100% well, it was easy to apply, hard to begin but it depends on the condition of the old latch. Aluminum makes it light and durable so this is an amazing replacement. Will consider their other products if i were to buy a replacement part.

A great upgrade over the original equipment design
Many Honda Element owners have experienced that terrible feeling that comes when the plastic hood latch release knob breaks off in your hand and you have to grab a pair of pliers to pull the cable to open the hood. I read about this replacement hood latch knob on the Element owner's forum and I have to say it is a great replacement. It is finished aluminum and uses an allen screw to tighten onto the cable and it works perfectly and feels solid and durable. Highly recommended and much cheaper than the dealer solution of replacing the entire cable!

Much easier than replacing the cable! (Ask how I know.)
It installs against the bare metal at the end the cable. I exposed that by cracking off pieces of the black plastic that surrounds the bare metal, using a strong diagonal cutter. It is a substantial feeling aluminum alloy piece - much more confidence-inspiring than Honda's plastic handle (which I have broken twice on this 25 year old car.)Durability is questionable only because the 2mm hex wrench that is included to tighten the two set screws slipped while I still wanted a bit more tightness. Nonetheless, the handle does seem tight enough at least for now. (I put a tiny smear of grease on the set screws' threads, since there is a steel to aluminum contact there, and I wanted to get the screws plenty tight.)

Fit good in Honda Element
Easy installation in 06 Honda Element. Just have to remove about an inch of the plastic piece that is still around the steel cable. Popped the kick panel off, and used a Dremel to chew the plastic off. Used some loctite on the threads. Looks good and works great.

Fits great
My old latch snapped off and this replacement latch is way better than the original. I'm kinda glad the old one broke.
