Smells Amazing, tastes Great!
I love me some coffee. Sadly for whatever reason, I have become caffeine sensitive as I've gotten older. It stinks. I still drink caffeinated coffee at least once a day, sometimes twice. But I decided to try decaf recently, so I was pleased to see this Cooper's Cask Coffee sampler pack for review. I have tried the Colombian and Sumatra flavors as I've had other brands of those, and I like them so that's what I'm basing this review off - I wanted to keep the others fresh for when I use them as well.According to the seller this is barrel aged coffee for "up to" 60 days, in barrels used for whiskey and rum. The coffee arrived in a nicely branded box with a best by date of Sep 2026, so it arrived plenty fresh. It includes 4 sampler bags (4 oz each) of Ethiopian, Sumatra, Timor, and Colombian whole beans. The first thing I noticed was the awesome smell coming out of these. It truly had me giddy to drink this stuff. But it was 5pm and I'd just gotten home from work, if I drink it I'll be up all night! I thought. But then I grinned to myself: this is decaf! So I started sampling. I tried the Sumatra since it's the darkest of this sampler (medium-dark) which I tend to like. The aroma that came out of my coffee grinder machine was wonderful as well and filled my kitchen up with a nice scent. Tasting it, I was impressed, though it did taste a bit lighter than I was expecting after smelling it. Many know that decaf coffee has a reputation for being more bitter - when warm, this had little noticeable bitterness to it, and even cooled down it was less than other decaf I have tried. It had a chocolatey flavoring to it but also very whiskey-like hints burned sugar in the aftertaste. Other than that I didn't think it tasted much like whiskey or rum, but it still tasted quite good! I also tried the Colombian which I rather enjoyed. Honestly, my opinion of each flavor is subjective and I found about 90% overlap (in a good way) so I'll spare you from me opining on every flavor. My only gripe with this is the pricing. For example, on the date of this review I see I can get the Ethiopian for about $1.50/ox vs. this sampler pack is at about $2.50/oz (always do your own research as this is subject to change). Conclusion: I was impressed by nearly every aspect of this Cooper's Cask Coffee decaf sample pack. The smell of the beans was among the best I've smelled pre-brew, and it made my kitchen smell amazing (to me, a coffee lover anyways) after the grinding and brewing. Taste wise, especially for decaf I really like the stuff - it is now my favorite decaf and I'll be sad when I run out of my 16 oz. However, I am deducting a star for the pricing. At $2.50/oz it's high - I know sampler packs tend to be more expensive, but if you know what flavor you want, you could just buy it alone and get it around $1.50/oz. However, if you love samplers maybe this is worth it to you, because I have nothing bad to say about the coffee itself, and I would recommend giving it a try!

Great quality
Got these for my husband as he can’t drink caffeine anymore but still loves coffee. He loves the flavor, much better than the usual store bought decaf varieties

smells and tastes amazing!!!
i drink decaf coffee whenever i can, and always look for products that use the swiss water process for making decaf. iw as excited to see that this one does. right out of the box these coffees smelled AMAZING and i was so excited to try them. these are whole bean so make sure you have a grinder at home! once i started to grind these beans up the aroma was even more intense and got me so excited to try. the taste did not disappoint - such a unique flavor profile with the barrel process, made for a very luxurious cup, more sophisticated than the typical bean. i didn't find these to be bitter at all, a nice smooth medium roast which is exactly what i like. i do think it's a bit pricey per pound of coffee, and it's not even organic. but if price is not a factor for you i'd highly recommend you try this!

Great quality water process decaf roasted coffee beans
Big fan of coffee and really love being able to enjoy a cup in the afternoon and was excited to try this brand. The fact that these beans are decaffeinated using the water process was also a desirable feature. The set of 4 comes in branded packaging just in case you would plan to send this as a gift - it will be seen and the packages are all tightly sealed. The 4 oz packages are a great size option for sampling. I have started with the Timor and both my roommate and I are enjoying this one. The beans smelled very fresh and roasty and brewed as expected for a medium roast. I found it to be very smooth, no bitterness, just a nice, balanced pleasant flavor. For me, just with my first taste - It is 5/5 for Flavor, Quality, and Freshness. I only take one star off for Value as this is very price for what amounts to one pound of coffee so, it is not something I could purchase with frequency without a discounted price.

Evening Coffee without the Caffeine
I ordered this sampler because I am a long time, big time coffee drinker. Unfortunately, I can't drink caffeinated coffee after 10 a.m. or I absolutely will not sleep that night. I learned.I love coffee so much that sometimes I just have to have a cuppa. I love coffee so much that sometimes with guests over I like to have a cuppa with a little bit of coffee liqueur added to it. Booze or not, the caffeine will keep me awake.SO, to the sampler. YAY. A defaff that smells wonderful and also tastes great.I tried the Columbian which I am familiar with. It was indeed familiar and very good. I didn't much miss the caffeine.Next I tried the Timor because I had never heard of it and it smelled so very good even through the packaging. I was impressed. Dark, deep earthy. It was a full on round taste. Does that make sense? I liked this one a lot.Note that I do NOT ever add sugar to my coffee, or cream, unless I am making a summer iced coffee. I do not ever!!! However, a tad of coffee liqueur in a cup of the Timor is worth mentioning for those who imbibe.I haven't tried the Sumatra or Ethiopian yet, but I am sure the quality will be great.Yes it is pricey. But what a great gift it would make to someone you know who loves coffee as much as you do, and who maybe can't tolerate caffeine after 10 a.m.I wish this company made coffee scented candles.
