Good replacement dock
Charger worked great with my 2nd gen ipod shuffle. Charged quickly with an apple power brick and had no trouble resetting the ipod and loading songs from iTunes on a PC. Feels secure.

So Happy! It Works!
I have not been able to sue my iPod Shuffle Gen 2 in at least 10 years. I drove myself crazy looking for the charger that must have been thrown-out at some point. I bought this charger knowing I could return it if it didn’t work - I had nothing to lose.It arrived this afternoon and I immediately plugged my iPod Shuffle in. The light was red - I stepped away, cooked dinner, ate, did the dishes and then remembered that I had this charging. The red light had turned to green, indicating charged. I dug up some old headphones and IT WORKS!!!!I have been listening to all of my old music for the last 2 hours. When I get to a song I know my teenagers will appreciate, I have them come over and share my EarPods. I really did not remember what songs I loaded on here and its bringing back a lot of memories & such a Random Mix - Green Day, 30 Seconds To Mars, Nelly Furtado, Lenny Kravitz, Jack Johnson, Bruce Springsteen, Feist, Slaughter, Jewel, 311, Weezer, Counting Crows, the BeeGees, Justin Timberlake, Live, Dixie Chicks, Janet Jackson, Semisonic, Goo Goo Dolls, Kate Nash, Dr. Dre, Dashboard Confessional, Blink182, Fleetwood Mac, and Lots of 80s Classics.Thank you!! I am so HAPPY!!

This is NOT the dock you seek......
!st let me say I am no electronics or even an apple newbie, I have been around/repairing electronics since win dos and apple/mac's start so I know I ordered the dock the seller shows for my daughters Ipod. With that said I have several issues: 1. the Ipod does not sit as they show it there is no way it can the Apple IPOD Shuffle 2nd Generation connects and charges from the headphone jack on this model Ipod and that jack is on top therefore it sits in the cradle upside down and no top controls i.e. power etc are usable while in the cradle. 2 The cradle has a small lip what should be to hold the ipod in the correct position and not allow it to turn on the jack BUT is actually on the iPod 2 in the way therefore it has to sit at a weird angle on the cradle. BUT my major issue I would say is it doesn't work for these iPods the cradle I received will not charge or sync either of our 2 ipod shuffles both of which are 2nd gens! not worth the hassle of packing back up and returning I would lose more in time, the cost of gas in just cranking up my truck, and shipping than the cradle cost or is worth to me so I just gave the seller my money, Oh well live and learn apple only products for me now. PS. For what its worth dear Amazon when shipping n item under 13oz that may be 2" x 1" x 1" with a 12" tiny/thin cord it does NOT need a 12" X 8" padded envelope for shipping just saying!

Bottom line, it works just fine
Normally I wouldn't review something like this. What can you say? It either works or it doesn't. But some people were commenting that they were having trouble posting reviews so I thought I would see if I had a problem. And try to come up with something more helpful than "It works." :-)I received my shuffle as a gift from a client several years ago but couldn't remember exactly when. I only use it when I travel and it is a godsend on planes. I was getting organized for my first trip in months and realized that I couldn't find my charger. Since I normally leave it in my travel bag, I think I must have left it in a hotel room. So I searched Amazon for a charger and found my first problem: What generation was my shuffle? It looks like the one in the picture and the charger looked similar, but since I had no idea what other generations looked like that was no guarantee. Thank heavens for google.A search for "iPod shuffle second generation" eventually led me to an Apple page "Identifying iPod models". It shows that the first and third generations looked significantly different but second and fourth looked the same to me. But it also shows that the fourth generation was introduced in September, 2010 and I knew that I had mine before that. So I was confident that I had a secondgeneration. But being paranoid I ran one more check. Since I still had the original box, I had the serial number (but could they conveniently have added "second generation"? Noooo.) So entering "iPod shuffle" and the last four digits of the serial number in google took me to a page that listed all iPod models by the last digits of their serial number. So if you aren't sure what generation you have, try one of these searches.Since I was short on time I ordered the "Prime" option and even though it was fulfilled by Amazon, it did arrive in a padded mailer. But it didn't appear to be damaged in any way. I immediately plugged it into my laptop and it began charging right away. I didn't have any problems with syncing to iTunes. Boy, has that site changed since my last visit. (I'm going to have to figure it out since the free "prime music" from Amazon won't let me download! What's the point? )This charger is very similar to the OEM but "feels" different- bulkier but less dense. Since it does exactly what it was supposed to do, fits my shuffle and arrived quickly, I can't find fault with it. But for now four stars. If it still works a few months from now, I'll probably come back and bump it to five.

works
After reading a number of reviews and looking at the price I bought three different adapters for my old gen 2 nano shuffle. So far this one, which arrived the next day and another work perfectly on my old dell 755 running windows 7 32 bit, my dell optra 745 running XP and my newer HP laptop g6 running windows 7 64 bit. One thing that is a bit strange is that the files loaded on the 64 bit machine don't show on the 32 bit machines and vice versa. The files on the two 32 bit machines are totally interchangable. I don't know if this is because of the sector size difference as applied to flash but it probably is. Couldn't find an updated nano driver on the apple site either. My scan disk flash is totally interchangable between all windows systems and even an apple machine we look at sometimes. In any case, I can load & change and charge both the 32 bit folders and the 64 bit folders on their respective machines. For a couple bucks it is worth it to have more than one of these adapters. I bought 3 for the tax on the Apple replacement. Such a deal.
