This book was recommended to me - otherwise, how many people are truly drawn to the concepts of humility and absolute surrender? But once begun, I was instantly aware that this is a Level Up book - it is recommended when you are ready to take another step in your relationship with God. What appears to be designed to wrest control and freedom away from your personal experience is actually an invitation to hand back to God everything you weren’t meant to struggle with in the first place. The title sounds like you are entering a prison but by the end, you realize you’ve been granted sojourn in a glorious garden; perhaps the original garden always meant for us.

This particular version, with the cover picture of hands, palms up in surrender is the exact version you want. The words and truths are intact, but they have been updated in modern English in a gifted way, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Lord, through Andrew Murray"s efforts, speaks personally to us through the author. I have felt His companionship and love exhorting me to turn fully to His surrender, giving much scriptural reassurance along the way. I wish I knew of other Andrew Murray books that are as well done, in His caring spirit, as this book has presented. Buy this one.

Great explanation of our need to abide in Christ and surrender fully to Him to do and direct as He pleases. As a pastor I kept feeling like I had to figure out how to make the church grow, but God reminded me that it is His church to lead and I need to pause long enough to hear His voice to know how to lead the people in being His church. This book reinforces what God has been working in me.

It got to the point I needed to,I am to understand why I needed to surrender and how to surrender. This book pointed out many of the mistakes Christian make thinking that they have surrendered to God. It's a very pointed book and I enjoyed it immensely.

Of all the books I’ve read on prayer for the past 50+ years this has got to be #1! Perhaps it’s the accumulation of all my prayer knowledge that culminated in me fully understanding what ABSOLUTE SURRENDER means when praying. I have experienced miraculous solutions to challenges when I have totally surrendered them to our Father in heaven. The book gets deep into what I must do with my fleshly controls and turn it around to my walk in FAITH. God wants something better for me which is always monumentally better than what I thought—I MUST SURRENDER! After the Bible, this would be my go to book for prayer! If you are experiencing some serious challenges in your life, this is a MUST read book!!!

Very clearly written and easy to understand. This book has really helped me. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed if you truly want to be closer to God.
