I’m unable to give a thorough review because I did not put it up. It was to large for my space. It is large enough to hold beach towels.I kept the towel rack but I’mNot sure what I will do with it. 😀

Item review first then story of why I chose the product and how I used it below.The item is well packaged, easy to figure out how to install. It requires a drill, a level,Hammer, measuring tape, and I suggest painters tape for marking off the wall. Remove the 2 mounting hangers by unscrewing the allen key (provided) head screws. Determine where you want the shelf and hold it there with a level marking a square around the 2 anchor locations (once again painters tape is suggested here). Now set the shelf down and hold the 2 mounting hangers in the middle of those squares to mark 2 screw locations. Use a drill (size isn't mentioned so I guessed small then moved up slowly) to drill out the holes so that the plastic grommets push in very tight. I used a hammer once I was sure it would fit. Be sure to not damage the plastic grommets and that they are as tight as possible. Now screw the hanger brackets on the wall ensure they are facing the proper way and are level. Now here is my only major complaint for this whole installation. The allenhead screws are so close to the wall and to the actual rack you can't really turn them well with the provided allen key. I didn't have a driver for my drill either so I had no choice but to make do. I had to try 2-3 times on each side to get the grip to hole correctly. My wall isn't perfectly flat so the character might have made it harder than a nice flat wall. I had to press hard against the wall to get the screws to begin fitting properly. DO NOTE TIGHTEN ONE SIDE ALL THE WAY FIRST. Get them both started while supporting the shelf to ensure the hangers are gripping properly. Finally tighten both sides checking a couple of times back and forth until you can't tighten them anymore which should mean the allen screws are flush with the shelf. If they are sticking out a lot I would suggest you did something wrong and the shelf wouldn't hold as much weight as rated. When done, I pulled on the shelf and pushed a bit (not trying to rip it off) just to ensure its sturdy. It was very sturdy and looked nice. My partner and I were able to hang both of our towels and then store fresh towels on top with no problems. Also I put hooks on the sides to hold a hair dryer which was another nice added storage option.This product worked great for me.My bathroom is tiny and I had no storage, the only towel holder was my shower door handle. This unit allowed for 2 towels and 4 large rolled fresh towels on top. As I stated in the installation review if you put hooks on the edges you can also hang stuff like hair dryers and so on.

Very good quality

While shopping for a towel bar for our master bathroom, I was challenged by the small amount of wall space we have available to hang one. I first shopped the local building / hardware supplies stores for a double towel bar with brushed nickel finish to match the existing hardware in our bathroom. Nothing really impressed me...too cheap looking, not quite the right color, no matching toilet paper holder, etc. Next I visited a specialty hardware store -- quickly learned I couldn't afford what I liked. The double towel bars in stainless ran about $200.Lastly, I searched Amazon for "double towel bar" and stumbled upon "double towel RACK". This item looks a lot like the hardware you might find in a hotel (which I happen to like), and provides the convenience of a shelf above the two towel bars. I read other customer reviews and was a little concerned about quality. I can honestly say the quality of the product exceeded my expectations. I was also able to order a matching robe hook and toilet paper holder -- equally good values.The towel rack measures about 23-1/4" long and almost 8" deep. Select the installation location on your wall carefully. If you plan to center the rack under a window, it's best to first check for stud locations. Because the rack projects out from the wall more than a traditional towel bar, install it in a place which will not interfere with bathroom functions, such as an outward-opening linen cabinet door or shower door. Hanging the rack above the toilet may minimize interference, but makes the shelf a longer reach.This item is not only attractive, but very versatile. The towel rack can be used for hanging hand washables by draping them over a dry towel or directly on the metal bars. If using hangers, best to stick to plastic and hang only lightweight items.If you have a tiny bathroom (i.e., cabin, cottage, guest house, beach house) with little or no cupboard space, the shelf is large enough to store full-size toiletries, an air freshener or candle, extra rolls of toilet paper, and a couple extra towels. To store small items, apply half-inch diameter glue dots (available at a craft store) to the bottom of glass or ceramic containers to secure them to the shelf. (I use empty glass containers from three-wick candles to organize travel-size toiletries, hair clips, and extra bar soap.)

This towel holder exceeded my expectations.It came inside a cloth bag in the box that did an excellent job of protecting the finish during shipping. It is a good size and although they show two (2) towels, one in front of the other, I feel like putting a towel on the back rail, closest to the wall, would be tough to reach if there was a full size towel in the front rail. But that is just personal preference. Still, for me this works great because I can put extra towels and washcloths on the top shelf.So why not 5 stars?Mounting this thing is a pain - I do not recommend that you install it alone - get help. Most towel bars require this so it is not a big negative. What did bother me is that the install instructions show a paper template to line up on the wall for the distance between brackets. No such critter existed in my box. I have seen other towel bars where the template is actually on the box it comes in - not the case here. There was just no template.So I removed one star because I had to make my own template using the side of the cardboard box it came in.Other than that issue, It mounts securely to the wall, the hardware is good quality, not cheap garbage. The pins that hold the bar against the plates screw in securely (Many do not) and the plates are think metal, not cheap thin aluminum.I would recommend this if you are good at installing things like this, or have a "friend". But if you rely on product provided templates I would avoid it.

Looks great and is nice and solid

My bathroom is a small galley style, and so space is at a premium! This unit holds two large towels, plus has a shelf that can accommodate more towels or...? Solid construction and a nice finish!Cheers, Jeff Hamilton

Looks good, happy with the purchase

This was easy for my boyfriend to install, it has been sturdy enough to hold 2 full size wet blankets as well as 3-4 folded towels and 4-5 hand towels. Its very nice, matches the metal in the bathroom so it doesn't look out of place unlike the bottom towel rack which I keep meaning to take down. I was excited to find these racks on Amazon, prime eligible. I recommend this!
