Worked very well on #40 Stainless Steel chain for automatic gate Eagle 1000 FSC
This tool fit #40 roller chain -- the jaws clamped the chain under an inner plate, the jaws were automatically centered around the roller because of their V-shape (and thus the sharp press pin was centered over the chain's bearing pin). After turning the handle clockwise so that the first bearing pin started moving downward, I retracted the tool's press pin and then mounted it on the inner plate's neighboring bearing pin. After pressing that neighboring pin a similar distance down, I switched back to the first pin and pressed it completely through the outer plate. And then I switched to the neighboring pin and pressed it completely through as well. Going back and forth a couple of times between the two pins of an inner plate was the key to removing the chain without bending it. Excellent tool for the price for DIY repair of an Eagle 1000 slide gate operator.

Works as described!
Not the highest quality but, what can you expect for the price. I used it to remove a link from my chain on my motorcycle. Worked great! It's best if you grind the pin down before trying to press it out. After grinding the pin down, just press it out. No problem. Fast shipping!

Works on my 35 and 415 chain
Good chain breaker. Heavy duty seems like it will last a while. The pin won't clear the link pin on my 35 chain . I have to finish breaking chain with a punch. However it's sturdy .

Excellent
So, if you know how to cut a chain, this tool is awesome! Great price and works like a charm.First you need to grind the pins flush on the link you want to remove. Line this tool up and tighten down till one pin pops down then switch to the other side of the link and tighten until the second pin releases as well. You may need to go back to the first pin if you didn't push it thru fast enough. That's it. The key is grinding the pins on the link flush first, otherwise you will most likely break the tool like others have done in the reviews. Also, don't try to push one pin all the way through or you will bend the link. Go back and forth with the pins until the link falls out of the chain.

works well
Works like it should. it stays lined up, easy to use. Good quality. Only complaint is the point that pushes flattens out. That might be ok. I pressed out two pins on a motorcycle chain and it seemed to stop flattening. They give you an extra one.

Not a quality product for MTB chains
I bought this because I could not find my Park chain tool. I tried to use it on my mountain bike chain and it is very inaccurate. The pin slips against the chain pin and the chain pin comes out crooked. I have a lot of experience working with bikes, so this is definitely not a user error. I would suggest using a Park tool or some other the tool that is designed to push the pin straight out supporting the front and back plates. The tool I share in the photos allows the pin to be pushed out while supporting the plates so the pin does not pivot out of alignment

Did the job, sucks
As others state, pin mushrooms and deforms. My first one shattered and the 2nd one broke, but stuck together enough to finish the two chains. Will not be usable in the future. Consider pins consumable.Handles could be a little longer for more torque, will suck for the young 20 somethings doing their first chain. For the price it's hard to beat, but consider it one-time use overall.
