Difficult instructions - fabulous end result!
This review is intended to help future purchasers get started on building this wonderful bed. Don't make some of the mistakes I did!Firstly: Each piece is labeled on one end with a stamp - use the checklist to check that you have received all the pieces by verifying using the stamped number on each piece. DO NOT try to match the pieces to the images provided in the booklet... you will fail and drive yourself crazy in the process. The images are crap, not to size, and not accurate.Secondly: I suggest laying out all of your items in alphabetical order - somewhere like in a garage, or an adjacent room to where you will be building the bed. If you face the stamps all in one direction, it will save you lots of time later.Thirdly: The bottom will not be square. It will NOT have right angles at every corner. You have done nothing wrong! It is designed this way to accommodate for the narrower end of the netting portion up top. It is asinine, and probably the worst design I've seen while putting together furniture. Who came up with this? WHY? We'll likely never know...Fourthly: The booklet kindly lets you know that for some portions you will need two people. It lies... you need two people for the majority of the project.Fifthly: Use a level, especially for the short, darker brown wall boards.Sixthly: When it's asking you to space certain items 1.5/2.5 inches apart, I suggest cutting a bit of cardboard to that size so you can easily space the items.Seventhly: The easiest way to get the mattress in and out is on the long side of the bed, on the side it goes in... especially if your ceiling is not vaulted.Eighthly: Did ANYONE figure out the blue curtain netting?!?!?! I gave up and said eff it. My kid didn't care for it anyways.Ninthly: If, like me, you received one board that had holes drilled in the wrong place and you need to drill new ones - make sure you measure twice, make sure to bring whatever your attaching up to it's final resting spot (don't let it hang lose), to assure that you are placing your new holes in the correct spots.I hope these helpful hints make building your bed easier than my experience was. Once it's put together, it really is a delightful bit of furniture - as long as your not OCD and that non-square bottom doesn't drive you nuts.

What an ordeal!!!!
This bed is huge! Not only that, it's not easy to put together. What I mean by this is, it's poorly labeled - difficult to tell wood boards from one another, the pre-drilled holes do not always match up, and the bed is not at true right angles. Hence, upon your build if it looks "wonky" and "off" its suppose to be. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong and or the manufacturer gave me the wrong dimensions of boards, but in the end its what its suppose to be. I just glad I finally finished building the stupid thing.
