Traces, tones, tests and easier than a Fluke. In one step, I could tone out the cable, plug it in, and see if all the pairs had connection. Simple LED lights for each wire, and if one was out, I knew instantly if there was a problem, without having to switch the signal to another mode (especially if the signal was being sent from hundreds of feet away, downstairs, where each floor is about two regular floors of stairs (airplane repair station).

Does Everything I need to do for chasing down Cat 5 & 6 cables! Nice carrying case! Easy to read LCD display in strong light and has LED backlight for dark areas too! Handy White LED built-in Flashlight on Tone Finder makes it easier to see wires! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The only functions that seems to work well is the continuity tester. Save your money to buy something better... or I'll sell you mine, I don't want it.

This is a great cable checker. Taken to the clients sites and solved two issues with cables and no connectivity.Also used this at home to trace out some coax to a bad splitter.The carry bag keeps all the parts in one place ready to use. For the price this can't be beat.

does not work, set up test cables and unit failed in all tests, far end dongle was never seen and open ended cable length tests on known good cables returned false readings on all pairs in each cable tested.
