Pricey but so much flavor!
Not something I can buy all the time but when I have it, pretty much goes on everything! This is a thick pureed like consistency of truffles and oil. Mix to combine before each use and then spreads or spoons easily. It doesn't stay fresh for ever so remember to use it up! I wish I could accurately describe truffle flavor. I was surprised when I first tried it because I thought it tasted like garlic, but not. It's earthy, meaty, garlic and so much more. Recommend looking it up for someone's qualified description :)

Not too truffle-y. Don't know how much truffle is actually in here; made in China
I was excited to receive this "SUMERIANS TARTUF Truffle Paste, L'Art de la Truffe depuis" (3.5oz/100g); on the surface, the product looks very "French", especially in the product label, it is written in French "L'Art de la Truffe depuis", meaning "The Art of the Truffle since" (but this is kind of an unfinished sentence). I was expecting a product of "France", but to my surprise, this is "Made in China". And further looking at the ingredients, there are many other ingredients like fungus and mushrooms than just truffles (black). Then, the www website listed on the product goes nowhere, "site can't be reached". All of the above really do not convey any confidence in this product (I am almost scared to actually consume it).I did give it a taste. I am a big foodie and a big home cook, I love truffles, so I use a lot of truffle products. How does this compare? Not too well. But the taste is ok, it does give some "sensation", "flavor", "remembrance" of "Black Truffle" and other "Black Truffle" products I had used before. Yet, it is heavier on foreign flavors (like musty mushrooms) than truffle's.It is not cheap, but if it truly tasted like black truffle, or it is truly with lots of black truffle contents, it would have been worth it. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I would much rather they use a small amount of real black truffle, and skip all the other stuffs, and make an oil, that would have been a better product.I am continued to be skeptical about this product, and it is just going to be a "pass" for me. By the way, I didn't have any packaging/delivery issue tho, it came to me perfectly protected with a nicely fitted "bubble" jacket.Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

Less Is More
My brother-in-law always likes to make different sauces and things and has been doing a lot with truffle sauce. My wife likes to cook so I thought she might like to try it as well. He’s used it to make some kind of spray for flavoring on things like fries and I guess I assumed it was easier. This comes in a jar which I knew but due to the consistency, we weren’t quite sure how or what to use it on. It is quite liquidy with small granular bits like tiny caviar just to give a picture. We tried to dip in it something she’d made, we obviously knew it was potent so barely had any to dip you couldn’t even see it but just the aroma was so strong we didn’t taste it again during that dinner. She wants to try to use it in a risotto or something but there are absolutely no directions so it will be trial and error to find out exactly how much to use in different scenarios. We’re looking forward to experimenting with it more. Once it is open in needs to be refrigerated and it says once open it has a shelf life of 21 days, otherwise it has a shelf life of 18 months. I don’t think there is any way we could use it all up in that amount of time.

Black truffle Paste Truffle Sauce
Unfortunately this arrived with it leaking out of the container and all over the packaging. Because it says to refrigerate after opening, we didn’t feel it was safe to eat it and threw it away.

Pleasant but not very truffle-ish
This has a nice rich mushroom flavor, but if you’re looking for the truffle flavor that makes people spend hundreds of dollars for a few grams, you’re not going to find it here. Not surprising, as this paste is made from a mix of three mushrooms, none of which is the classic white truffle. The mix includes “black fungus,” more commonly known as cloud ear fungus, black truffle, and boletus aereous or queen bolete. Cloud ear fungus is used mainly for its texture in Chinese cooking as it doesn’t have a lot of flavor on its own. The black truffle does have some of that truffle aroma, but it is not as strong as the white truffle. The queen bolete is a choice mushroom, but without a strong aroma.

Good taste. Truffle taste and aroma. Black color
Like a paste in consistency. Black color. Good truffle taste but it is dark so the application has to be consistent with adding black specks to the dish. Could be mixed with mushrooms for pasta. Add to eggs. All good. My jar came well sealed and in good condition.

Jar leaks oil in transit, but taste and aroma were perfect as a dipping sauce.
The jar arrived in good condition, and it appeared properly sealed as the top of the jar "popped" when opened initially. However, oil leaked out of the jar while it was sealed so we thought it was important to use the product fairly quickly. This serves as an excellent dip for crackers or can be used as a topping for burgers. The product tastes fresh and has a strong black truffle aroma.

Yummy but may be leaking
So ... Although the outside seal was intact, the bottle was leaking from the lid, and there's no seal inside. They need to check on that. Which is a shame because ...The paste itself is pretty yummy. We tried it on steak, and also with the accompanying muchrooms, and it really adds some truffly goodness to the whole shebang. So we would recommend it but with the caveat that you might find some of the oil leaking. Also, it says to use it within 21 days after opening.
