2 Pcs UCP202-10 Pillow Block Bearing 5/8 inch Bore Mounted Pillow Bearing Cast Iron Base and Self Aligning Chrome Bearing

I love DIY projects and making, fixing or adapting stuff. This is an excellent pair of pillow block bearings that have sealed ball bearings which accept a 5/8ths inch diameter shaft. Each bearing include a grease zerk with plastic dust cover which I screwed in as seen in P.3. The zerk lets me grease the outer bearing ring that floats inside the pillow block so that alignment is easily made when a shaft must be supported well and turn freely but each mount end may not be perpendicular to the shaft. Each inner bearing shaft support has an Allen set screw and each includes an Allen wrench for the set screw.These are a superior value, the bearings are smooth and have good load capacity with an ideal shaft size. Amazon just might be able to tear into the insane markups of the same stuff from the near-monopoly variety offerings of Grainger and McMaster-Carr. So when I saw these pillow blocks, I took a stroll through other MRO mainstays. Maybe I'm just late to the show, but I was stunned to see Amazon's range of MRO offerings at great prices.The bearing blocks look great. The zerk fitting ensures bearing extended life. We will be running them at high RPMs and expect daily maintenance. For eight bucks apiece, I don't know how I could beat this deal short of deep diving Asia and wait for 6-weeks for maybe seven bucks plus shipping.

I ordered these for building a jack shaft on my recumbent bike. I used a 12" long, 5/8" bolt with sprockets on each end. These pillow block bearing are perfect for mounting the shaft to the bike and will be more than adequate for the job.

Used a pair to fabricate an intermediate, 5 groove pully on my Boice Crane drill press. Worked out perfectly !!
