I still have the comfrey…it is very useful and brings comfort to swollen knees.

This fits perfectly into a 32 oz jar. The root is a dark brown color with the outside edges of the root being darker. It has a mild earthy smell without any hint of chemicals. I have grown to trust Frontier Coop products so this is no surprise. These root pieces are were very consistently sifted the first time I bought this, then the second time there were some twig-like pieces and even one tiny rock so far (so now 4 stars). It seems that this is banned now for supplement use in the USA and probably for other internal uses. Based on what I read online, this ban seemed to be made without any research being done, and the ban was based on older (very very limited) research done, which seems a bit biased in my opinion. If you didn't notice, the label says for external use only (please don't vote that I didn't help you if you plan on eating it, I am just telling you what the label says). It seems that Australia and UK also banned it.

Comfrey works great on my fibro ravaged muscles and Frontier provides an excellent product. I found this out when Frontier was OOS on my comfrey root and I ordered some from two other vendors. It was awful!! So much trash mixed in with my herb that I spent more time picking out bits of leaves and stem from what was supposed to be cut up comfrey root, that it took me longer to pick out all the trash than it did to make, bottle and label the entire batch of lotion! If you use a lot of herbs, Frontier's bulk herbs are the best. They have all been great. I have ordered several different herbs from them and been pleased with every one of them.

I am purchasing my third bag today. I have a long time use of comfrey and it's use.I have been very satisfied with the Frontier line of herbs.

Just as my herb book stated. Same use same benifits.
