Each slot is 3/4". There 19 slots. The tray that comes with it is 9" x 16"

can this rack be used without the white drainboard? if yes, what is the exact measurement of the metal rack only?

Yes it can be used without the white drainboard. I am not too sure of the actual deminsions. My husband permantally installed it so I can't get to measure it. Sorry

Is the drainboard detachable?

Yes, the rack sits on top of the tray.
