Beautiful
These are very sharp and work surprisingly well. Single handed operation locking and unlocking makes using them a joy. The leather holder is heavy duty and well made, and should last a long time.

Updated review and things are great!
UPDATE: After writing the review below and using these shears more, I found a really easy fix to my problem. The shear clasp can actually be folded in completely and will not make it snap closed. One other handy thing is, you can leave it open and reinsert the shears into the holster making for fast grabbing.OLD REVIEW: I really like these shears. They are simple and solidly made. There is one major flaw. When you cut a branch sometimes there is enough energy in the cut it snaps the latch closed on the handle. This is very annoying if you are trying to prune quickly. I find myself reopening the clasp after every 5th or so cut. The clasp is spring loaded so it does not allow it to be over-ridden to keep open. This is a absolutely a design flaw.

1st quality garden tool.
Cuts through any soil deeply. Great for root removal, and hefty enough to use for leverage. A+ on value for money.

Great/sharp
Make sure to wipe them off after use, they rust fairly quickly as expected but sharp and great!

So well made
You can feel the quality by simply holding it. This is a product that is made with skill and dedication that is not commonly found any longer. With some oiling, this could last for generations.

Very weak blade
I am a certified arborist and a production pruner and I try out many types of hand pruners. I was excited to put these to the test, but was VERY QUICKLY disappointed. 1 half of a day was all it took to crack the blade. Pollarded 2 cherry trees and that's all it took. Definitely will not be replacing my felco 2 which I have used every single day for years without issue. Don't waste the money on these.

Not what I was hoping for
I was looking forward to a high quality well made Japanese made product. What I got was a pair of shears that appeared only partially finished and cheaply made. These were not cheap in price. They needed additional grinding of the metal and the handles were merely painted. Buy a cheaper pair as these are not worth the extra money vs another brand.
