Yes it will, but please do yourself a huge favor don't get this. Buy an oem GM/acdelco one. This didn’t even last me two weeks not worth the hassle

How do you detach the black cable from the key switch that’s going to the steering column shift mechanism?

It’s been awhile since I did it, but I believe I put the key in and turned it backwards a little bit and the cable came out.

the best thing to do to get the correct part is to search chevys actual inventory and whatever parts numbers you find online search it back here on amazon, amazon is the worse for finding parts, but seems to be the cheapest on the fly most days!! i rebuilt a 05 Yukon cross referencing parts online and buying them from amazon for pennies on a dollar, just wish they'd get their act together when it comes to parts verification! also check eBay parts along with other car part sellers who usually have the correct model an plug that back here again on amazon, 9/10 the parts numbers online are correct!!! also opt for the amazon warrenty its also pennies on a dollar where most other shops dont offer warranties on parts!!!! cause these old shifters break easy(gmc,chevy,caddy) replace the whole thing not just the cable as its really one unit!!!
