What is the purpose of the rollerball on the end?

The rollerball is to reset the mechanism if you use the window break. You can reuse this tool so it has a reset.

Why does the price vary depending on colors?

The cost of the materials could be different. Just like when you buy a car, sometimes the cost of different plaint colors is different. Personally, I'd get the brightly colored ones so they are more noticeable.

Can you carry this on an airplane? I travel a lot.

I don’t think so. There’s a very sharp blade to cut the seatbelt, if god forbid needed!!

Does the 3 pack come with the sun visor clip?

No, there is no visor clip. What looks like a clip on the bottom is part of the device to cut the seatbelt
