Affordable, Good-looking Grommet-Top Curtains with Terrific Light-Blocking Capability
I am delighted with these curtains. Sold in pairs, not single panels, they cost less than 9 out of 10 comparable items I found in stores and on the web. Unlike others I bought and returned, these block the light coming in an east-facing bedroom window! They also muffle some outdoor noise, a bonus. They are available in solid colors and a variety of lengths. The fabric has a lightly sueded texture and a weight I have not found elsewhere in curtains of this type. They hang beautifully, and the grommets make it a cinch to hang and adjust them. They come with matching velcro holdbacks. Further, they are LINED (in white) and keep out heat and cold without that awful fused thermal backing that can crack and peel. They are washable. When you take them out of the package, plan to iron or steam them to remove the creases. Grommet-top curtains are meant to hang on round rods, not standard, flat rods, but if you don't want to change over, standard will do, it just won't look as nice. There are also light-blocking curtain rods available to make these curtains even more effective.

Excellent drapes to block the sun
I bought these tan drapes over 3 years ago. Really nice drapes. Keeps it dark when I need it. I have washed them and they came out beautifully. I would buy again in a minute.

Light blocking is second to none.
I ordered 2 sets of these (4 panels total in 84" length taupe) for a large west-facing window that gets full afternoon sun. We're in Texas and summers are brutal, so keeping out as much sun & heat gain as possible is a priority for me. First, these are definitely not shower curtains or shower curtain material. In my opinion, the top grommets may be what is contributing to that perception (mentioned in other reviews), but the tops of mine are hidden behind a valance so that's a non-issue for me, and if that is a concern, there are rod pocket versions of this same drape available. The fabric is a heavy triple weave with a light sheen, and a white backing. Nothing looks or feels at all plasticky or rubbery. The quality is nice, and they look and feel like a cotton twill drape when hung. They were folded in boxes and did not arrive excessively wrinkled (I hung them straight up from the box with no ironing or steaming), and the fabric drapes nicely. I will say that this fabric is a pet hair magnet, if that's a concern. The physical weight I would call medium - in my opinion, you don't need a heavy duty rod for these. I have 4 panels in the 84" length, and I am using a standard lightweight curtain rod. (Weight-wise, these are very light compared to velvet & suede drapes I have in other rooms of my home.) Now, what you came for: the light blocking is second to none. They keep the sun completely out and keep the room quite dark, which was my goal for the summer to increase energy efficiency & keep my home cooler. I have purchased other light-blocking panels (Eclipse blackouts) and these Amazon Basics are far superior in blocking light. These are true blackout panels. If you're looking to keep light out & keep a room dark, you can't beat these for the price.

These are just fine
These are just fine. Exactly what I wanted them for. They black out enough light so I can finally get some sleep. I was worried after reading some reviews about the quality of the material and the color, but it's black as expected and doesn't feel like a plastic shower curtain to me as some reviews said. Definitely has some wrinkles, but not nearly as bad as some of the other reviewers' pictures show. Maybe I got lucky. You're not going to be winning any home decorating awards with these. They're plain and functional. I have them in the bedroom and probably wouldn't put them in the living room if I wanted drapes that made a statement, but they're not hideous. Not gorgeous, not terrible. They'll do the job.

Love the OEKO-TEX certification
Update: I originally ordered the beige curtains but the rod pockets were a bit hard to pull so I ordered the white grommet ones (beige wasn’t available). I will be sending the white back because for one, they arrived with some stains but also because the white color is too bright for the many cream and brown colors in the room. They are a very true pure white. I thought that I would would like the grommets better but they seemed more shower curtain like as some others have noted. This may be worsened by the fact that my curtain rods are a matte aged brass color and the plastic grommets are silver colored so they really stand out. Regardless, I am so glad that I opted to raise the curtains up to ceiling height. It makes the ceiling look so much taller.Grommets - pros - super easy to move and less light comes through at sides and middle; cons- may not match your rod, they aren’t as aesthetically appealing in my opinion, and light comes through the grommetsOriginal review:I chose these for bedroom over other curtains because they were OEKO-TEX certified, blackout, and affordable. They are wrinkled as others have said but I don’t think that many people realize that wrinkle free treatments applied to fabric such as clothes and curtains generally contain carcinogenic chemicals. I would rather the curtains have wrinkles than a questionable chemical finish. I plan to use a steamer on them. One thing I do wish is that they had 42x96 curtains. Right now, none are available.
