This is Potent! You WILL feel it working!
*Maries Original Poison Ivy Bar – the instructions indicate an exfoliating side and softer side, both felt the same to me, smooth (see picture in listing). Albeit my second it does appear to be grainer at the top? IDK but it feels smooth. My first use – I left it on for 5-minutes, I do have an active rash/eczema/hives/red welt- and I Am familiar with bentonite clay.Well, the closer 5-minutes came it started to get really irritated! I won’t do 5-minutes again. My second wash, I simply applied, then around 60-seconds I took my other soap and rubbed it into my face as well then rinsed off at cleansing. Same effect if you ask me, if your breakout isn’t severe then you can probably let it sit like a mask, but I couldn’t. You feel this “burning” penetration feeling? Especially when I rinsed. Perhaps burning isn’t the word but it did feel “active” if that makes sense. Cool water caused the sensation to dissipate. I may use this soap weekly when I do my facial(s), but I can recommend this product. I like the homeopathic ingredients and will use this soap periodically.Abridged: I can be affected by seasonal allergies, eczema, huemans, so I move carefully. I believe a former product caused me a chemical burn that turned into red welts/hives/eczema on my cheeks that would not go away. None of my old tricks worked. SO, desperate to avoid steroids and unnecessary trip to urgent care for prescription, I Am trying this last hail Mary before ringing the alarm. I even took Loratadine (Claritin) to internally fight this rash cause it is ruining my day.I wash with my regular products. Then I use Maries Original Poison Ivy Soap Bar. I then tone or treat the area with just witch hazel, or I use Braggs ACV/Honey+Cayenne onto a paper towel then top that with Uncle Harry’s Liniment. Instantly soothes and I can see the combination attacking the bacteria/rash. I then use organic tea tree oil drops and Forces of Nature eczema oil, and calendula essential oil, rubbing into the affected areas. SO soothing. I spray SkinSmart eczema spray over affected areas. I then apply liquid aloe vera juice and rub a moisturizer over to hydrate the rest of my face. I then take Calmoseptine ointment over impacted areas. These steps seem to soothe the skin, I also notice less irritation if I keep my body temperature low(A/C, Fan). This is my second wash, I have seen a reduction in my rash in just 12 hours which is a miracle because I need my full face back!

It Works
This soap works. Shortly after I bought this bar, I was pulling out poison ivy and some brushed my wrist, above my glove, accidentally. I ran inside and quickly soaped up, following the instructions. Happily, I did not get any poison ivy rash. This is a miracle for me because I am very susceptible. This bar is unique because one side is abrasive to scrub out the oil and the other side lathers, really great idea. I think it’s important to use the soap quickly after exposure and to follow the directions, leaving it on for a short while to dry before rinsing. I’m going to lather up and let it dry on my skin to create a barrier before I pull poison ivy again next time. This bar replaces another one I liked from a different company, made mostly from jewelweed. It worked well, but I like this one better. Happy to have found this.

A Review, but read others too
I have tested the soap on some other oils and saps and it did great. I have not had the opportunity to use it on poison ivy yet. I have purchased the soap in advance so that, heaven forbid, something were to happen, hopefully we could stand a chance at getting it cleaned up as quickly as possible and no one in our family having to learn the hard way. I am incredibly happy to have this on hand, and what I have used it on so far I am very happy with.

This didn't really do much for me
I followed the directions. I used in the shower and then let it sit on my skin for the amount of time listed then rinsed off. It's hard to tell if it did anything. Itching stayed the same and had to use sprays to reduce the itch. I continued to use the soap but still had new places pop up over the next few days in the same area and the existing rash didn't not seem to reduce any faster. I have a good bit of the bar left and will use it again when I have another encounter with poison ivy but won't buy again. Based on reviews it must work for some folks.
