This is a great little tool for young nature explorers. The bugnoculars are essentially a small clear container (for a bug or other nature finds) with a small magnifying glass on the side, and magnifying lenses on the top. My four year old initially needed a little coaching on opening and closing the bugnoculars but it's not too hard. There's a carry handle on the top. The toy is super sturdy and well made (we had another bug exploring set where most of the parts broke within days and this is much more solid). The size is great. These work for bugs as well as rocks and other finds. This would be great for encouraging nature exploration for kids ages 3-8.

If it was up to my two-year-old son he would play outside and chase lizards and catch caterpillars all day. These bugnoculars are the perfect toy to keep him entertained. It's also a fun educational tool as he's able to observe the creatures up close and learn more about them. There are tiny holes at the top so the creatures can breathe, which is great. The lid easily opens and closes. The case itself is not very big so its meant for small creatures only. The handle at the top makes it easy for my son to carry during his bug hunting expeditions. Definitely recommend.

Bought for the grandkids they loved it. They ran outside and got things and looked at them at them through the magnifying glasses right away. Fun and educational.

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my son. He loves the catch bugs, and thought this would be perfect for him. The concept of the product is promising - a little binocular on the top for observing bugs in the container, a great little handle and a good size for carrying around. I was not pleased with the durability of this tough. My son dropped it ONCE and there was an unsightly crack in the plastic after that fall. I wish the they didn't make this item out of hard plastic that easily cracks - kids are going to definitely drop things like this. What was most disappointing, was that the item came with a broken tab to keep the lid closed. Thankfully, I emailed the company and they sent us a new one.

They absolutely love this educational item. We catch various insects and put them inside. Then the kids take turns looking at them. We discuss their anatomy, their food, how they move. Then we do a little research online. We're careful not to hurt the insects and release them outside once done.

My 2.5 yr old granddaughter is obsessed with this! She is curious but scared of insects, so i thought maybe this would give her a chance to study them without fear of them crawling on her. We just received it yesterday, so she is still hesitant, but is enjoying it already. We also put in other items to look at close-up. I couldn’t tell it from the picture but the side also has magnifying circles to look through. The container snaps firmly to the lid so there is no chance of bugs escaping. Very happy with this purchase!

My 5 year old son loves this. The magnifying lenses on top are great. Nice and clear. My only complaint is the latch on the lid. On our first outing to find bugs several times as my son was carrying the box the latch came undone spilling the contents onto the ground... sad for my son. We still enjoy the big box but are more careful now but the latch could be improved.

A friend of mine brought this with him when we went for a walk in the woods with our kids, there and then I jumped on to Amazon and ordered it. My two little girls (Aged 7 and 2) have got one each and it is always full of earth and bugs and spiders and ladybirds. They love feeding their mini pets and getting a good ole close up of nature. The zoom is pretty good and the product is durable. Not only do you have the birdseye view but there are also two zoom conicals on the side to close up viewing. Top notch and something to use all year round!

Kids are having a great time looking at all sorts of insects and whatever fits in the base. Quite durable and easy to clean.
