How does this compare to the nighthawk m1?

No advantage compared to M1. M1 lacks band 71 which is long range but low speed. In my area closest cell towers provide band 2/12/66 for T-mobile/Ultramobile service. I get the same download speed up to 100Mbs for both. As of firmware V2.5.2.20 LBR20 lacks Bridge Mode which is a deal beaker for me.

My understanding is that it works with any cell chip with local coverage. I use AT&T, set up is very simple and it works with high reliability. A recommended product.

Does this system work with my mofi or ubifi at&t sim card? its not a regular at&t plan.

Yes. I am an ATT customer. You will need the smallest size SIM offered which fits in the ORBI Had to go into the ATT store to get one. I am happy with the performance or ORBI.
