GRERAT BOOK, 32 SHOULD STILL BE IN SOUTH AFRICA

I"ve been reading many different books on the South African/Rhodesian conflicts and have really been trying to get a feel for what these soldiers had to endure during hard times in the bush and i have to say this book makes you feel like you know the members of 32 battalion. The book goes through many of the numerous battles the battalion was in from start to finish and i really liked how the author(32 battalion-officer) didn't shy away from tellin the bad things the unit did as well as the many good things. Also own numerous books on 32 battalion and this 1 sum's everything I've read so far into 1 book and it is definately a complete and extremly well done unbiased account of these yound men in combat.

At over USD200 or ZAR2 500 this obviously excellent book is not going to get the readership it deserves.Initially Col Jan Breytenbach's Eagle Strike was also only available in hardcover and in any case was soon out of print.It is now available in Kindle format and hopefully getting a wider readership and coverage.Likewise, The Terrible Ones: The Complete History of 32 Battalion by Piet Nortje needs to become available in Kindle format.I look forward to that.

Sehr anschauliche Schilderung der Vorgeschichte und Ereignisse. Ein Stück Zeitgeschichte dieser Region. Insbesondere die eingearbeiteten Berichte der Zeitzeugen ergänzen die jeweiligen Kapitel sehr gut.Trotz des Umfangs liest sich das Buch sehr flüssig.
