The wife and I are both pleasantly surprised. It's working great (at night, of course) on both house and trees. It's about 25 feet from the house and covering a huge area with brightly visible dots. By huge area I mean about 30 x 30 square if projecting perpendicular, but we've angle it to the side and it's projecting at least 50 feet of width.The effect on trees is really nice as even the gentlest breeze twinkles the lights as the leaves move around. We might get more.It feels well made having a nice heft. Both the casing and the removable lawn spike are metal.The remote is a bit wonky as it seems you need to press buttons in certain order to get them to work. For example, it won't turn on when I hit the 6hr timer button. But if I first turn it on with the power button, then hit the 6hr button twice (the first turns it off and the second turns it on) it works.

Each year I go up onto my 2nd story roof to hang lights. Each year I think I'm going to fall and break my neck. This year I'm looking for a safer way to get into the Christmas spirit. I got one of these lights early to test it out to see if it would be a good alternative to me risking my life again this year hanging lights. I absolutely love this thing! In under 2 minutes I had my entire house lit up like a Christmas tree. I also tried aiming it on the trees in my front yard and that looked really cool too. I think I'm going to get a second one so I can light up the trees and my house. The remote is great, I can change the settings from inside my house if I want to. And the 6 different timer settings are nice, once I get it set up it will just turn itself on and off every night at the time I want it to. Super convenient. Typically I dread having to haul all my lights out, having to check each strand to find which bulb burnt out from the year before and then risking my life to go up on a couple ladders and my roof to hang lights. I hate it. But now, this is so easy, I can't wait to get this set up. I took 2 pictures of the front part of my house, one with the flash on and one with it off.

While researching holiday laser projectors , I knew I'd have to find a laser light that had some ideal features if I wanted to persuade my parents to just try one , & before they started dragging out the tangled mess of string lights. The traditional kind of outdoor lights over the years have become more like a chore than any holiday fun I remember. This laser technology in lighting is such a game changer, because it removes the tedious labor of stringing lights and all the unsafe ladder climbing, especially for older folks.I like the outer appearance and sturdy metal construction , it feels like it was designed to last in harsh weather. Setup for the light and remote took less than 10 minutes, and 5 minutes of that was spent simply exploring where to place it in the yard! The lights are red and green , really festive and you can easily maneuver the laser light's coverage to be more centered on an area or wider and spread out for more coverage. The optional stand makes placing the laser indoors and outdoors possible if you can't use the ground stake. So it exceeds expectations if the important features to you are quality made , quick install/setup, safe and simple lights that eliminate the labor of string lights and yes, a more than fair price.A couple of minor drawbacks kept me from giving all 5 stars. The first is the lack of options on the remote for motion or variety of movement except for the "flash" of the lights which was just on /off blinking that could be fast or slow. That's too basic and looks more like a advertising sign in Vegas than used for a holiday accent. Seems like an easy add on/update that would be included on most remotes The other issue also is about the remote not being designed for use when outdoors. The Infrared Receiver (IR) style remote needs direct line of contact to be useful so you can't control the lights unless you step outside which is an inconvenience. Definitely should have an RF receiver that could make the remote control work as expected,which as it is now, it's only useful for lights indoors.The laser light's coverage is usually described in square footage or approximate measurements, but I prefer a more visual description.One light will cover an entire side of any 1 level studio or 1 bedroom home and possibly a small lay over of those lights to the roof and connecting sides (see Example photo 1 for reference)- As for most 2 level homes (See photo #2) , the light projector would have to be placed much further away but it would still possible. The down side of that distance is the lights would diminish in brightness and have less visibility as a whole. For any homes with more length than the example photos or also homes with 2 separate apexes , I suggest 2 light projectors for full coverage.My review is based on 2 weeks time seeing the lights every night with the 6 hour timer.

I purchased this 1byone laser light and another laser light sold on Amazon by Starry. I suspected that I would need two or three units, so thought I would try a couple of brands before committing. The 1byone unit did not come with instructions, but set-up was easy. It would have been nice to have an explanation of the different functions on the remote control, but we figured this out with a little experimentation. The 1byone unit worked well on a small defined area such as the front porch or entry wall of the house. It appears to have the strongest light output when the red/green were on together, although I would have preferred to light my shrubs with green light only. While this unit works, it does not compare well to the other unit in terms of brightness, distance lit, or motion options. The 1byone is a little cheaper, so if you have a small wall structure that you would like to light with red and green this will be adequate. If you are attempting to light an open area, such as a cluster of trees or outdoor space, you will be happier with another unit. After comparing the two units, this one will definitely be returned.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this light. We had gotten a different one first and it just seemed to be so cheap and the one foot long cord broke easily. This light is so sturdy and comes with a long heavy duty cord.. We had no issues with it working every night with great range. Arrived way before sceduled day; came in on the 9th instead of the 13th. Great packing, solid construction made of alumunium (even the pick !). Works great and lights are bright and crisp. Perhaps, the controller is having trouble being capted by the light, even with a brand new battery.Otherwise, its a great buy !

Just got this - remote is TOTALLY useless - you have to hold the remote about two feet away from the front of the unit -- SO you have to go outside - kind of defeats the purpose - I am going to contact the seller and complain.. PS - if you read the manual NOT to leave the unit plugged in when you are not at home or anytime the unit is not being used - SO_ the automatic timer is also useless- if you unplug it it loses memory and you have to do it all over again -- so this is NOT automatic one bit- very misleading advertising.Update: I wrote the seller and the response was very fast - they apologized for the problems and are sending out a new unit right away- That's EXCELLENT customer service for sure - I have always said the product is ONLY as good as the support- so a big thumbs up to customer service - looking forward to the replacement unit.

Remote control doesn’t effect much change. Display is only dots and no pattern. Overall not nearly as good as an older version that I have.

Worked fine for 3 weeks then Green light was stopped working, reported the issue to Seller and they sent me a replacement in couple of days. Very happy with the product and customer service. I'll recommend this product.
