So while this is less than 7 inches (6.9 per Skil's website), it may be deemed a powertool, therefore can only be transported in the cargohold. But it has a lithium baterry, so theres that. depends on usage if you had a project taking some 3-4 hours and used the device constantly you might drain the unit down below below 25% if you go too low a light will flash for low battery..
