I had a friend coming to stay with me for a few weeks, and we came up with the idea of doing a big puzzle, we looked through all the options on amazon and settled on this one.- Shipping, as usual, is super fast! Received this within 2 days of the order.- The puzzle pieces are sealed in a bag inside the box. This is not "dust free," as there was plenty of blue dust being sprinkled on the working surface while putting the puzzle together.- This puzzle is BIG, it measures 60" x 40", measure this out and you'll be having second thoughts about buying this, but then you'll start thinking you want it even more just for the challenge, :-D- The pieces are very sturdy, only one was broken by my partner in a "freak accident." 3 or 4 pieces were slightly damaged out of the bag, the printed side was "flaking" off the pieces a bit, however, this did not impact the final product at all.- This puzzle is hard, not because of the size, but because of so many similarly colored and shaped pieces, especially the water!- I confirm the "2 halves" thing mentioned in other reviews, you can even see the shift of the puzzle edges down the middle line if you look carefully. There were a few pieces that physically fit perfectly in place, but clearly did not belong because of the image/color difference, this made sense after I read about the "two halves" thing.You probably will have to buy/build something to assemble this puzzle on, we had a table that was just too small, so we went to home depot and bought 3 2" x 4" boards, stuck rubber pads on the "bottoms" and placed them on top of the table, it worked very nicely.I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend who's looking for a challenging puzzle.*Spoiler: there is a youtube video of me and my partner completing this puzzle in timelapse if you want to check it out.The video is titled: "5,000 piece Ravensburger Puzzle 'Beneath the Sea' Time Lapse"

This is an excellent product. If you read the fluff about proprietary manufacturing, high quality materials, and so on, you should know Ravensburger is not kidding. The pieces are quite sturdy and don't feel like the usual paperboard at all. The image fidelity is crazy: the finished puzzle measures five feet across and you can still clearly see fish so tiny they take up only a single piece. There is plenty of challenge for veteran solvers thanks to the many areas of uniform color, especially the water. It being a coral reef, there's a simply riotous selection of "this could be pretty much anything" when looking at single pieces. I'm maybe five percent done solving and will definitely be poking at this all summer. Great buy! Also, shipping is lightning fast, I had it in about 36 hours. Assuming you knew someone crazy enough to do 5000 piece puzzles, would make a good gift.

The color on this puzzle is amazing

Great puzzle, loved the picture and the detail. Challenging and fun. When I finished, one piece was missing and I had one piece from another puzzle?? I first thought I put the wrong piece in (same cut as another piece), but the piece left over does not fit. It also was shiny finish where all the other pieces are more of a matte finish. Some factory worker is probably having a good laugh.

There are numerous sea life elements embedded in this scene which offer the clues to solve this puzzle. I normally complete a 5k puzzle in 8 weeks but am on the 12th week now and expect to finish in another week. It has held my interest and entertained me throughly.

I was a little bit intimidated before putting this puzzle together, and initially I had some issues with the border because a couple of the pieces look like they may be able to fit in the wrong places, but I worked it out. The inside of the puzzle was a pleasure to put together. The colors are wonderful and the pieces snap together nicely. I would definitely buy another one of these again. It has taken me a couple of months to put together (on and off in between a very busy schedule). I'm almost done!

I had so much fun doing this puzzle! It's huge, so make sure you have a space large enough before you buy it; I had to use my floor because the table wasn't big enough. The pieces are high quality and fit together well. They also stay together when lifted, making it easy to move around chunks of the puzzle that you've assembled off to the side. The picture is gorgeous too!

I just finished this puzzle. It was the second Ravensburger puzzle I have done and the quality is exceptional. All pieces were there, but one was slightly bent. This is the largest puzzle I have ever done, but the picture had enough different objects in it to keep it from getting boring. It took me 20 days and a total of 54 man-hours to assemble.UPS just dropped off the 9000 piece puzzle that I ordered so now I will start on that adventure!
