Great lens! Long exposures, infrared, and fisheye fun, but not good for macro.
Awesome lens! Small, robust, and optically fantastic. I've had fun taking milky way photographs with this lens. I also just got an NEX converted into infrared, and just happens to turn out that this is one of the best wide angle lenses I have now for infrared (the other wide angle lenses have a lot of light scatter problems, especially stopped down; this one you can stop down a little for that great FOV and still get no hotspots). The only thing I don't like is that the close focus is not very good--this only affects a very small portions of the shots I would ever take, so it's not a major issue to me, but please take note. It's close focus is about 1' away, which is not close enough if you want a small flower or feature to fill up the frame (or even if you want the gimmick shot of the person or dog with a "big nose"). I believe the older, f3.5 fisheye has a closer focus, at least my friend's alpha mount version does. Extension tubes are too thick to allow macro focus on such a small-focal lens, but I found I was able to remove the lens and pull it out about a milimeter to enable close focus, but this required the lens to be rotated 45 degrees to half fit in the bayonet mount, and then the petal hood, no longer aligned, cut off the edges of the image. Since you can't remove the hood on this lens, its not easily corrected.

Smokin' Deal
Bought a used one from Amazon for about $125. Looks brand new to me, it came with the original box, instructions and packaging. It's in perfect shape. I've never had a fisheye and I've found this lens is a lot of fun to use.

Useful (and fun) ULTRA-wide-angle lens
This lens is described as being a “fisheye”, but I’ve found it to be a valuable ultra-wide-angle lens rather than a mere novelty item, mainly because it has no vignetting (i.e. it produces an image that fills the whole picture frame rather just creating a circular picture in the middle), and it really doesn’t distort the image very much when used properly. Thus it is very useful for taking pictures in tight interior spaces, and also for sweeping panoramic landscapes.I have 2 Canon EOS M cameras (M5 and M6II) along with most of Canon’s EF-M lenses, the widest of which is an 11-22mm. I wanted an even wider-angle lens but was reluctant to try a non-Canon lens, especially one that doesn’t contain the EF-M electronics that control focus and exposure. But I took a chance on this lens, and have been very pleased.Unlike all of Canon’s EF-M lenses, this is a “dumb” lens, i.e. it has no electrical connection to the camera body. That means it has several limitations:It’s not an auto-focus lens, thus you need to focus in manually (like in the old days). It can’t participate in the camera’s auto exposure system. You set the aperture mechanically using a ring on the lens, and that’s the aperture that is used.It doesn’t report lens information to the camera for use in the camera’s lens aberration control mechanism or to be recorded in the EXIF information that the camera embeds in each photo to tell you which lens was used and the exposure information. And in the camera’s viewfinder, the aperture is reported as “F0.0” since the camera has no idea what you have set the exposure ring to.What does this mean? I think the first 2 items are easily dealt with by anyone who knows photography well enough to have the kind of camera this attaches to. The last 2 items are issues for me, albeit relatively minor. The lack of autofocus is not an issue on a wide-angle lens since you are already far away from the subject and usually have almost no depth of field. I just set the lens on infinity and check back to see that it has not been changed from that, and my shots have been very sharp. The Rokinon instruction manual says that (for Canon) you should set your camera to M (manual) exposure, but I put mine on Av (aperture priority) and let the camera choose the shutter speed and ISO after I have selected the aperture manually on the lens ring. The good:I love, love, love the extremely wide-angle capability this lens provides. The image completely fills the frame on my EOS M cameras, and even without any post-processing you would almost not notice the small amount of “fisheye” distortion unless you have tilted the camera. The F2.8 aperture gathers a lot of light. It has a built-in non-detachable lens hood, which is good because the lens is highly convex and protrudes a good distance. Thus you CANNOT put a filter on this lens, regardless of what is stated (but not a problem for me).Bottom line:This lens is a great addition to a Canon EF-M stable, and very useful as a tool for obtaining ultra wide angle shots, especially in interiors. I like it a lot.

Excellent quality build and quite sharp! Get it!!
Aloha first off a little about myself for reference, I'm an enthusiast shooter that loves landscapes, cityscapes, and surfphotography. I also do model and animal photos too occasionally. I've shot with canon xt/xsi, 7D, 5D, and 5D mrk iii, and now the a6000. I primarily bought the a6000 for it's very small size and great image quality for quick short trips.I've shot with this lens for a couple of weeks doing some fun landscapes, but primarily will be using this lens for surf photography, once I get my housing. It is very light weight and surprisingly very sharp, and quiet fun to use! Build is excellent, and there's no play in the bayonet lens mount.

Fun little thing.
This little thing is great. It's a good price. It's reasonably good quality glass and the build quality feels solid. It's also a really compact size for a fisheye, which is really nice. I've got it on an a7 ii, which keeps the total camera size down to something that's very easy to carry around without too much hassle and still get some cool pictures. It's not the widest angle you can find, and not the best glass, I suppose. It's got no tech in it and is only APS-C you have to make sure your camera will drop to APC properly, which is a little annoying. But all-in-all this is a very good lens. I'd definitely recommend picking one of these up.

Nice solid ultra-wise fisheye option
Comes with a bag to keep dust out. This lens won't save EXIF data to your camera, but if you are handy with a manual focus lens and like the ultra-wide focal length, this is a good choice. And, to be honest, if you're going ultrawide anyway, you don't really need autofocus since you'll likely be focusing to infinity to get the details of everything around you.Straight from the camera, as you can see in the first two shots (made with the Rokinon 8mm f/2.8), there is quite a bit of distortion with it being a fisheye. If you're using this for real estate photography, you're probably going to want to use something like a Lightroom profile or some other software to straighten the photos from this lens out a bit.Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase!

Very Good lens. Unfortunately got a bad copy.
It has a potential to be a great landscape addition to your kit. Especially if you are into the night sky photography. Unfortunately I received a bad copy. The very left side if the image was slightly out of focus. Not much but enough to notice at 100 % magnification. Also looking to the front the markings on the lens were slightly off set (possibly the reason for the focus issue).A returned the item.Otherwise great fun.

Great specialty lens that is sharp and fills a small ...
feels extremely well made and solid. A compact but heavy lens that gives a quality feel. Great specialty lens that is sharp and fills a small void in the Fujifilm X-system lens lineup.
