I don’t know what it is about this particular sand bath, but my Syrian absolutely loves it! He has always preferred to use his sand bath as a litter box, which makes me very happy. But the round dishes I had tried before he would simply use and leave. With this one, he actually enjoys hanging out inside, or sometimes on the platform. When I put him in a large bin to clean his enclosure, it becomes his safe place. He gets very stressed in the bin, (even with a ton of bedding with his scent). But if he has his beloved sand bath, all is good. He’ll just fall asleep in there. I don’t know how they came up with the design, but it’s apparently just what hamsters love. Syrians do seem to prefer peeing in corners, so I’ll never have a round one again. And the cover/platform obviously makes him feel very safe. It’s quite large and very sturdy. I would absolutely buy it again.

I use this for a baby syrian, it is the perfect size.

Very easy to use, clean, and my hamster has an absolute blast. I took the lid off because it’s under his elevated bridge but he loves just sitting in it.

I love this sand bath! It feels quality when you open it, and looks quality in the cage. It's bigger than I expected, which I am absolutely not upset about because half of the top has a lid on it so it's similar to just having a raised platform there - I like to put fresh fruits on that platform for my hamster so it doesn't stain the bedding. It's nice and tall too, so you could put a good amount of sand or dirt in, but I am a little bit concerned with the height as I have an older dwarf hamster and I've seen him struggling to get out of it. Not a big deal, I'm going to put a large rock in part of it so that he can get out a little easier.Overall, I love this, and if you have a hamster that uses their sand as a bathroom this will save you a lot of the time - I've ruined a good number of wood hides by putting them in the sandbath and having them get peed on, but in this one, the platform doubles as a hide, so I avoid all of that.

This sand bath is very pleasantly bigger than I expected, as I didn't bother to look at the specifications.. I figured it would be great coming from Niteangel, and I was NOT disappointed! Hammy loves it, it's easy to get in and out of and I love the lid so that bedding doesn't go inside as much. Acrylic is very easy to clean, it's much better than the regular litter boxes I've been trying to use. Would definitely buy again.

I ordered this for my hamster as he use to get his sand in the middle of the cage and I would make a circle with the apple stick bridges like an arena for him but he always made a gigantic mess. I finally ordered this after trying bowls and he will still dig and make a huge mess. I like that it’s enclosed with the top and he digs it won’t fly everywhere. He is a bit chunky and large and has a hard time getting in, he sometimes digs deep enough to make himself fit. Or i reduce the amount of sand but he likes to dig and when I do he gets to the bottom and uses the bathroom and it’s harder to clean. But it’s better than my old way! I recommend.

I had the large wooden Niteangel sandbath from my previous Dwarf Hamster, and didn't have any issues with her using it as a toilet. But after getting a Syrian, hers started to soak through the sand and stain the bottom corners. I decided to upgrade to this acrylic version so I can fully clean the base with soap and water as needed, and it's a great upgrade!

My little hammy loves rolling around, eating in, digging in it! It keeps the sand in! Getting a sifter for it / a mesh scoop is a necessity though to keep it clean so please keep that in mind.

They should update their product photos, since the potty / sand bath is actually one solid piece, instead of several different pieces of plexiglass glued together. It looks like acrylic and is decently thick, heavy, and all the edges are nice and smooth. No sharp edges. It's a tad expensive for what it is, wish it was maybe $5 less.Side note: the box it comes in is the perfect size for storing those extra empty toilet paper tubes.Update: It's still great, but after my hamster has used it for a while, it's developed a distinct smell. This is both good and bad. Good in that it encourages her to use it to pee in (mission success there!), but bad in that you're never going to get that smell out. Maybe with an enzyme cleaner? The only way this could be better is if it was made of glass. The acrylic has scratches on the bottom already, and glass would prevent that. Plus it wouldn't absorb smells the way acrylic does. It'd be a snap to clean completely with just hot water.2nd update: The smell continues to grow worse, even though I'm changing her litter whenever it starts getting stinky. And even though I'm soaking it in hot water with white vinegar. I've tried using multiple different kinds of litter as well. Hamster pee is very stinky. Niteangel, please, please make a glass version of this!

I received a Birchwood instead of a burlywood, not a big deal, but as a rescue, waterproof is kinda nice ._.Awesome sand box regardless, love your products.

Works perfect for a gerbil. They’re able to get in and out of it easily.
