How do you attach the weight bags?

It came with string, but that was basically useless. I ended up using longer bungee cords so the weights would reach bottom of pool.

How do you keep this from floating away if used in the lake?

It has two bags that you put rocks in and ties to each end of the net part

Are the strings long enough to stretch out to tie weighted bags to a 24 ft above ground pool?

We filled the bags with rocks and let them sink in the pool to hold the net steady. Everyone had a blast with it.
