First, it was made in China, so two strikes against it. Secondly, the workmanship was shoddy; the welds were poorly ground down, the paint was puddled. In other words, it is a piece of "crap."

Poorly made, claw broke on first use, cheap aluminum, dangerous.

I see negative reviews on this tool time and time again and for the most part they are substantiated. The tool feels like it's made from old metal and the blade hardly can cut a limb let alone a small twig. The blade is so dull out of the box that it would take an hour of hard work to get it to shine.It's a piece of junk and I'm not defending it. But I took one hundred dollars and decided to make a one day survival pack so I chose these for a multi tool. Two tools are one and three is two, etc etc.I wanted something I could knock a nail into a deck, chop a limb, pull nails and pry jars to pry things open.Well I received it and it looked like junk. It wouldn't cut a marshmallow. So I went to work with just my small file set.I started on the nail puller, taking off all of the paint and sharpening the points enough to get under a tight driven nail to pull it out. I filled between the extractor so large and small nails fit.Next I went to the blade, within ten minutes I had it sharp enough to shave hair. I took it to my backyard, chopped a limb off of one of my oak trees, then used the blade to take the smaller limbs off down to the wood to make a smooth surface. I then peeled off all of the bark and sharpened both sides. Once done, I was still able to shave hair.Yes, it's cheap, but with a little work, it became a star. I've used it for three years now and it still works killed the day I got it, then made it better.If you can sharpen a knife, get this tool and you'll be amazed at what this thing can do. I know I am a no body that no one knows, but I promise that with a little work, this can be a great tool.
