Q: Can I add this to the heating oil for my home furnace?

You can add this to heating oil but why would you? Heating oil is usually kerosene, which already holds well during cold temperatures. If you are using diesel fuel instead of heating oil, this might make sense. If you add kerosene, that will work too. For winter diesel that doesn't contain winter additives, you want at least 30% kerosene.

You can put it in the oil or the gas. Read on the can what amounts for each.

Q: How much fuel does 1 can treat? How often should I add it to my fuel?

1 can is 16 oz. If you are just using for normal fuel maintenance, carb/injector cleaning and fuel stability, use 1 oz. per gallon of gasoline or diesel. So 1 can treats 16 gallons. If you are cleaning a dirty carb or fuel injectors use 2 to 4 oz per gallon of gas/diesel. Continue to treat at that level until the engine runs smoothly. I treat all gasoline/diesel that I buy for lawnmowers, 4 wheelers, generators, tractors, etc. with 1 oz. of sea foam per gallon of gas/diesel as soon as I purchase the fuel. Generally, 1 oz per gallon will keep your engine clean and running well. I don't use in my auto or truck on a routine basis because the fuel is replenished at least weekly.
