They are made of plastic and the tops are a rubber type material. Some added info: My preschool class uses them all the time and don’t have any issues. I have also had them for about 5 yrs.

They are like an eye dropper. I use them for are. The children can squeeze paint. We also use them for science. One project the children really enjoy is when I freeze colored ice and the use the dropper to put water on the ice and watch it melt. Also by using these it is great for fine motor skills and prewriting skills by building strength in the fingers.
