Very Quiet
I purchased two of these fans as an update from the noisy exhaust fans that were original to my home. I’m rating as a 4 star within my comment because strangely as it sounds they are extremely quiet which makes me question the effectiveness. It’s a preference too have a bit of noise especially for my half bath that is central to the hub of my home.

Much quieter than comparable fans
My house is around 20 years old, and the original Braun fans were getting old and noisy. Since I have existing construction and the four fans in my house are near impossible to get at due to their placement under decade's old insulation, I decided to purchase some replacement fans that could be replaced without having to get in the attic. The Tech Drive bathroom fan, at first glance, checked my boxes: I needed something easily installed, and I wanted something quieter than the jet engines that were the Brauns. They were about 20 dollars more expensive than the Brauns, but if they were quiet and easily installed, it would be worth it. I bought 4.The first two were installed without issue. The hardest part was having to partially disassemble the Tech Drive fans so they could be installed without having to get into the attic or crawl space. But I got them installed, turned them on, and glorious quiet! These fans are significantly quieter than the Braun fans I had before. Probably 1/3rd of the noise of the Brauns. My kids noticed immediately, they thought the new fan wasn't working because they couldn't hear it. With the Brauns, I could pretty much hear them running just about anywhere in the house. With the Tech Drive fans, I had to be right next to the door of the bathroom they were installed in. Super pleased.Went to install the third fan, and unfortunately, I was met with an issue. The little door that sits inside the plastic exhaust had broken off the pivot. I didn't notice until I got the fan installed and turned it on. It was really loud and I could feel air blowing back into the room from it. That's when I disassembled everything again and discovered the broken door. Bummer... Had to take the whole assembly down, box it back up, and return it. Fortunately I had the fourth fan, so I put it in instead and it worked fine. But now I'm short a fan. Amazon is awesome as usual and is sending me a replacement without a problem.Bottom line is, these fans are really nice. They are quiet and easy to install. My only issue was the broken exhaust door, and the reason why I left four stars instead of five.

Great exhaust fan.
Super easy to install. Extremely Extremely quite. It has a few second delay start built into it so that it's sarts to build momentum in just a couple seconds til its get to full speed in seconds. This allows it to be super quite. I will definitely be using this product on my other restrooms. I was very happy with the airflow also.

This retrofits a Broan 688.
I'm glad when a hunch pays off. The dimensions on both are nearly exact. Not only that, but the orientation of the snail vent aligns perfectly with the Broan vent opening. All you have to do is remove the internal outlet connector and firmly but gently rip out the circular collar. It can easily press fit into the housing. At most you will need to source three 3 inch or 4 inch self tapping metal screws to permanently affix the fan into the existing housing and some duct tape to close up any minor gaps. I don't know if the designers had retrofitting in mind when they made this, but it's fantastic. The noise level is much much quieter than the original 4.0 sone Broan. You can still tell there is a running fan from 30 feet away with the door open and an EMPTY house, but it absolutely doesn't sound like the Broan blender it replaced.

Quiet but not super quiet. Slow to start. Fits into opening of Broan 688
The interesting part about this fan is that it can be taken apart and the insides of the fan fit relatively snugly into the metal box housing of a Broan 688 - NuTone vent fan, which is the standard mass-market and cheapest vent fan installed by builders throughout the US. The Broan 688 is substantially noisier and at least 60% cheaper which is why it is installed everywhere. This fan costs a lot more but it has roughly 1/3 of the noise level of the Broan 688. So on new constuction you can install whatever you want, but if your house is already equipped with Broan 688s, it may be sensible to retrofit some of them with this fan's parts, and you don't have to tear up sheetrock to do it but can use the existing metal housing. The fan is relatively quiet but not the quietest out there. It runs on 12V which makes it very slow to start. It takes 3-4 seconds to begin spinning at a working speed. The construction seems good quality and it is packaged with good care. Seems like a decent quality product.

a worthwhile upgrade from original contractor fan
i lived with the fan originally installed in my house for too many years. it worked well, but was annoyingly noisy. this wasn’t trivial to install due to tight space, but a youtube video on replacing bathroom fans helped. and it’s wonderfully quiet in comparison. i used one of the online amazon price trackers to wait until it was on sale. so glad i upgraded my old noisy fan.

Bathroom fan, not an easy install and also a bit noisy and it has a delay coming on after flipping the switch.
