Classy Caps SL086 6x6 Prestige Solar Post Cap, Copper, Pack of 2

These look awesome. I have had them installed since 2013 and they still work great. The folks that made this light proved they care more about the customer than the all-mighty dollar by making the rechargeable batteries replaceable. I finally had to change out one light's batteries after 3 years. I got a dozen of the AA rechargeable batteries for less than 8 dollars shipped.This was a great purchase, and I don't regret it at all!

Quick delivery, easy install and it provides great light for our front porch steps. We are very happy with this product.

I basically wanted something to keep the water from seeping into the top of my gate posts and shorting their life. I was going to buy some copper caps but then Amazon AI suggested these. I read all the review and decided - what the heck.SO - as other reviewers pointed out - they are plastic. They are made OK but they aren't copper metal.They also aren't very bright. If you want something to help you see to get through a gate, these won't do that. There is just enough light to FIND the gate - kind of a glow that doesn't really reach the ground. So I'm not real dissapointed - but I'm also not real excited. I guess they will provide the original purpose - to protect the post - for a few years anyway.UPDATE - Almost 2 years after purchase, one of the units died and the other needed battery replacement. Not sure why one died, I know the On/Off switch stopped working, so I wired around it - but I suspect it stopped charging because if I put regular AA batteries in it, it works for one night.The other unit is working OK but I discovered that the batteries that come with these are only 600mw and don't hold up for more than a couple of years (about 600 recharges). Eveready rechargable batteries are 2400mw and last about 2,000 recharges - so where the originals burn a few hours after sundown, if you replace them with better batteries (Homedepot) they will burn almost all night and last for 4 or 5 years I hope.When I dissasembled the broken unit I was also suprised to see it FULL of small spiders and webs. Not sure what can be done about that but I did spray them with some Miss Muffett's Revenge (look for it here on Amazon) and I hope that helps. I think what killed the switch was spiders and webs INSIDE the little on/off switch.

The actual dimensions are 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" and not as advertised "Will fit over a nominal 6"x6" wood post (actual dimensions 5-5/8"x5-5/8")'. When started the refund they wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee. Can tell if the product is good or not since it did not fit my fence posts.

These post caps are beautiful, and are still shining (although slightly dimmed) at 7 am after being on all night. Ours are in full sun all day, so they charge and run beautifully. You can easily find your house key or see the steps to your house with the amount of light these provide in the dark.

When I first received the pair of lights only one worked. I emailed and called CC. To my surprise, I received a new replacement cap in about a week. I had written a negative review earlier because I hadn't heard back from the company. I'm delighted that they sent me a new working light but wish they had communicated their intention better.I apologize for the negative content.I think,the light is OK but it is NOT copper. It is a plastic light painted an antique copper color. For those expecting to get a real metal/copper lighting unit, you might be disappointed. I was initially but got over it pretty quickly.Both lights now work fine and look great. We'll see how they stand up to a Minnesota winter.

Easy to install, great look, nice light for our deck at the beach...

They’re attractive and easy to install. But they provide minimum light and only stay on for a couple of hours. Additio, some are very unreliable and don’t come on at all for days, and then do!
