HOW IT WORKS STEP 1: Connect the Truedio transmitter/charging base to your television and a power outlet. STEP 2: Set your Transmitter in a desired location. STEP 3: Take the Wireless Headphones anywhere within a 150 ft. range of the charging base, adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level, and enjoy! IDEAL USAGE People that watch TV too loud for the others in the room or neighbors. People with mild to severe hearing loss looking to hear TV audio clearly. Couples watching TV in bed. Couples with different sleep schedules. College students or people with roommates they do not want to disturb. Anyone who wants to be able to control their own TV volume!

Very short working life: 6 weeks
Nice concept, good flexibility of connection with both analog (RCA) and digital-optical connector; very good sound quality and volume/tone control. Unfortunately, after just 6 weeks of light use, headset stopped working altogether. No charging indicator showing, red light in second cradle-charger, headset on charge for 12-15 hours, no sound after @ 1 minute of operation, Contacted Amazon who immediately issued an RMA-shipping label and promise to refund. Too bad, a seemingly superb product done in by its technology.

An effective device for boosting comprehension of TV audio
The TruDio wireless headphones work exactly as advertised, and can make it easier for those of us who have some hearing loss--particularly at spoken word frequencies--to hear our favorite TV programs. The product is easy to install whether you have a newer TV with optical connections or an older one with RCA plug connections. Sound fidelity is surprisingly good even at the higher volumes. There is modest background noise as with most such devices but it is not at all objectionable.

A Well Made, Well Designed Product
I purchased the TrueDio unit after having used a Sennheiser 410 unit for several years. The TrueDio uses radio frequencies to transmit sound whereas the Sennheiser model uses infra-red (line of sight) frequencies. The TrueDio seems a little heavier than the Sennheiser. but is comfortable enough and the radio frequency transmission is a lot more convenient. The TrueDio is a little cheaper ($140) than the Sennheiser ($150). I plan to use both units as we have two TVs. Both the TrueDio and Sennheiser are far superior to the poor quality TV Ears by Radio Shack which I used at first.

Great features but terrible build quality
Returned item for refund, Great features but terrible build quality . Headset would not charge. Battery is really crummy, contacts in the base connecting to battery are very flimsy and therefore would not stay in contact with the battery...this is why it didn't work. Also pins in base and headset are too flimsy. I can see why some other reviews indicate initial defects or failure after a few weeks.

I have recommended these to a lot of my friends that have ...
I bought these for my mother due to her difficulty always hearing correctly what was being said. She put them on the minute she starts listening to TV. I have recommended these to a lot of my friends that have parents with impaired hearing.

Four Stars
Ok... somewhat uncomfortable but do what they are supposed to do.

Happy with the product and the results
Really helps my husband with watching TV. He can hear what we're watching without me complaining about the sound being cranked up. Happy with the product and the results.

great for walking into other rooms and hearing the TV dialogue
They work better than the TV Ears that were an other manufacturer's analog hearing assist. For some reason these digital hearing assist stop working and you need to turn them off and on to resume the audio.
