Replacement
This was to replace one that I broke. They work well and I have had mine for 15 years. I broke mine trying to use a hammer to loosen a bolt like some times I do on a regular wrench. I it is not recommended to be used with a hammer.

Gear wrench
Great quality, smooth operation. Very much needed wrench that I didn't have in my sets.

a sweet deal!
got here quick and worked like a charm on a difficult hard to get to fastener! i was changing out the blend door actuator on my 2002 Dodge Ram, and if you've ever done one you know about the screw closest to the firewall... incredibly difficult to get to and incredibly difficult to unscrew... with this 1/4" wrench i was able to slip a phillips #2 bit into the socket, put some upward force with a pry tool underneath and back the pesky screw right out... same going back in... made the job a 3 minute simple task rather than a wasted 45 minute sweaty ordeal... thanks to the GearWrench store for selling these separately for such a fair price!

Ratcheting wrenches are essential for any toolbox
I have used GEARWRENCH ratcheting combination wrenches for many years and added a few that were missing from my set. These new ones I bought are every bit as good as my originals. These are my go-to wrench for lots of tasks. They are compact, light, and offer a very short swing angle, allowing you to turn the bolt or nut even if there is very little clearance.

Overall a great product
The wrench is overall good quality. Gearwrench is not the same quality as they were in the past, so I think they are a bit overpriced for the current level of quality. Gearwrench however is a stable brand owned by Apex. Although there have been warranty issues, my recent experience dealing with Apex warranty service has been positive. This overshadows the slight drop in quality as the company still stands behind them 100%.The fit of the wrench has no issues having a firm and tight fit. The box end is 12 point but does grip the fastener well. The open end is a standard smooth jaw, there is no "flank plus" or similar gripping technology on the open end, but I have not experienced flexing, slipping or bending with fasteners. The box end is ratcheting, but is not reversible. I like that this options comes with a flat vs offset box end, but you must be mindful that you can back yourself into a corner with a wrench without a reverse lever. I have both offset and flat wrenches and these are my most used, especially with newer vehicles. The ratcheting mechanism is not serviceable. There are some who show ways to open them up for service, but the manufacturer does not intend for this to happen. Soak your ratchet end in ATM or oil every so often and if you still have issue, there is the lifetime warranty. These are thicker than the older versions. The heads are about 1/4 to 1/3 thicker than the older ones, so if you are adding to an older set or getting warranty replacement for one, just keep that in mind. The main issue I have on quality not yet mentioned is the quality of the finishing. Although the wrench is usually straight end to end, the arm of the wrench is often polished with a curve in it. While this does not change the ends being straight with each other, it makes for an awkward usage. This is something Gearwrench did not have in the past which is a clear sign of the brand's declining quality of manufacturer.

Nothing better than a ratchet wrench. And this one I needed for work.

Great tool, Dependable brand
I haven't had a bad tool yet from Gearwrench. I use tools a lot in my profession and truly believe that you get what you pay for. This is an example of that. I paid a little more, but the quality is there. Cheaper tools may have a "lifetime" guarantee, but what good are they if you are making constant returns? All your doing is wasting time. I'd rather get the job done in one shot, and move on to the next project. This tool will do that. I would be happy to buy this brand again.

Nice
Quality spanner, ratchet end is smooth and has a fine action. Feel and finish is what you'd expect from a $$$ brand. Plan to add a few more to the top drawer.
