KleenBore12 Gauge Aluminum Jag, Black

I learned that there is a difference between the short jags and the long jags. The long ones were too tight to fit in my barrel, so I had to switch to the short ones. The jag is sized correctly, the problem is that the patch you put around it will have some folds in it. On these long jags, those folds increase the overall thickness too much. You could probably cut the patches so they fit better, but that's a lot more trouble than just switching to a short jag.However, I discovered that these longer jags are just what the Dr ordered for cleaning the magazine tube. So it wasn't a waste of money or anything.

I bought this because I feared the plastic ones I had would break. However, the plastic ones (which are still holding up) are constructed to flex in diameter a bit. This means they can fit through the various sizes of chokes, where the metal one can't. Certainly, this thing will last forever, and if you clean with the chokes out it will work just fine.

Way too skinny for cleaning 12ga shotgun. See pictures. First, the product received wasn't what was pictured. The product number is the same, JAG234, but it looks nothing like the picture and MUCH too thin. The diameter of what I got is about 1/4 inch. 12ga bore diameter is about 3/4 inch. The whole point of a jag is to fill up the bore as much as possible with a cleaning patch draped over the jag, so that more pressure can be applied against the bore wall as the bore is scrubbed. With this product being about 1/2 inch too thin, this "jag" might as well be a patch holder. Terrible.

After the first few passes using a synthetic patch I was starting to think the jag was undersized.... Switched to a cotton/flannel patch and that did the trick making for a snug and solid cleaning pass.. Worth a try and a solid and decent investment if you shoot quite a lot....

Package indicates it is for a 12ga, but it is way to small for that. Maybe mis-packaged ? Will return.

This product makes quick work of cleaning my 12 g shotgun. It is simple to use with some Hoppe #9 solvent to simply and quickly remove copper and dirt from the inside of the barrel. It pushes all of the gunk and grim out the barrel end. I run it a few time with a clean patch after that to make sure I removed the solvent, and finish with CLP to finish cleaning, lubricating and protecting my shotgun. I like this product a lot.

This is listed as being made from brass. It is not, it's aluminum.The bid true shows the true color, but the description says brass.

I do not know how I got by without this all these years. It works very well so far. It is aluminum. It runs through my improved cylinder and skeet chokes with no problem. I have not tried it with any tighter chokes. This is a great price for this item. I have seen plastic options at big retailers for way more $$.
